The Bilingual Mental Health Therapist's primary responsibility is to facilitate Child and Family Planning Meetings according to Wraparound principles that are family-centered, individualized, strengths-based, and outcome-focused. The Mental Health Therapist partners with the Child and Family Team and other Wraparound staff to assess youth and family needs, while leading the Seneca Wraparound team in providing services to support the achievement of family goals. The Mental Health Therapist also works as a Clinician on the FURS response team during on-call shifts to provide community-based crisis intervention and mental health services.

Wraparound/FURS are community-based programs that serve at-risk youth from ages 0-21 throughout Ventura County. The Family Specialist role works with a team of Clinicians, Parent Partners, and Youth Advocates to support the youth and their family. We do "whatever it takes" to help our community thrive. The Ventura County Wraparound and FURS Program's goal is to support children, youth, and their families with complex and enduring needs to reside in the least restrictive environment that is clinically appropriate.

Responsibilities

Wraparound Job Duties:

  • Facilitation of Child and Family Team Meetings. This includes preparing for the meeting, coordinating attendance, facilitating the meeting, writing meeting notes and distributing them within two days, and writing mental health notes

  • Provide clinical case management and coordination of care.

  • Collaborate with county and community agency partners, including but not limited to county social workers, probation officers, outside therapists, psychiatrists, teachers, etc.

  • Complete comprehensive assessments, treatment plan of care, mental health notes, Family Team Meeting notes, Plan of Care, incident reports, and other documentation as necessary in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.

  • Support clients' behavior management programs, provide collateral and permanency services, and crisis management as needed.

FURS Job Duties:

  • Work as part of a FURS mobile response team to provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed in client homes and in the community.

  • Provide aftercare services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to community-based resources.

  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and IEP meetings when necessary.

  • Complete progress notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.

Additional Job Duties

  • Provide services across the entirety of Ventura County.

  • Utilize a culturally respectful and responsive lens in providing all services for clients.

  • Attend staff team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, and adhere to clinical best practices.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.

  • Eligible to register with the BBS.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse population and workforce

  • Maintain a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  • Willing to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating on-call team (24 hours approximately four times per month).

  • Valid CA driver's license and insurable under Seneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.

  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.

PREFERRED

  • Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs.

  • Experience implementing family-focused Wraparound and mobile response services.

Schedule

  • Full-time

  • Monday-Friday 10am-6pm

  • On-Call availability 4x per month or as needed.

Benefits

  • Staring at $72,560 to $86,560 per year.

  • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications.

  • Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure.
