What you will do & the impact you will have:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Central Valley health and wellness team. The position will be based at our wellness center in Lost Hills, located within our pistachio processing and packaging facility. The Medical Assistant will work with team of clinicians, health coaches and social workers to provide wellness care to the company's employees and families. For the right candidate, this will provide an incredible opportunity to build, develop and foster collaboration among a team that is evolving a new model for world-class health and wellness that can have an immense positive impact for underserved and vulnerable populations.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Work will be split approximately 50/50 across clinical care and medical reception.

  • Clinical care:

o Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs.

o Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.

o Administer injections and applies dressings as instructed.

o Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.

o Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.

o Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.

o Maintain Electronic Medical Records, files and other information.

o Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.

o Maintain equipment in a clean and safe condition at all times.

  • Medical reception:

o Welcome patients/clients/visitors to the clinic in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determines purpose of visit and direct to appropriate person or program.

o Provide information to callers; transfer calls as needed; work with Health and Wellness team to ensure adequate phone coverage at all times.

o Schedule patients for clinic visits; call patients to confirm; follow up with patients for missed appointments

o Maintain business office inventory and equipment

o Register new patients and update/verify existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information and eligibility status that is accurate and up-to-date.

o Enter and compile technical and statistical data for reports and records.

o Manage and update the clinic staff schedules to reflect patient care, blocked time, personal time, etc.

o Unlock and lock clinic rooms, cabinets, and drawers to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • Successful completion of a medical assistant program.

  • Phlebotomy certification and experience required.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience.

  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish required.

  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Based on the Patient-Centered Medical Home model, the clinics will be able to address a large part of patients' needs through care teams that include health coaches/educators, nutritionists, and behavioral health professionals and an onsite pharmacy and laboratory. Here's what you'll bring to the table: * A graduate of an accredited PA or NP/FNP program with national certification. * Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience, preferably primary care and/or occupational health. * California RN license, California PAor NP/FNP certificate and valid DEA number. * Proficient with technology, including MS office, tablets, smartphones, and EMR systems. * Strong interest in driving population health. * Written and verbal fluency in Spanish strongly preferred, Medical Spanish a must. Core Skills and Responsibilities: * Provide the full spectrum of outpatient primary care for adults and children. * Collaborate closely with a team: one physician and four health coaches (advocates that will help patients set wellness goals, drive activation, and improve self-efficacy). * Comfort working with a medically complex population. * Coordinate and help grow a network of trusted outside medical consultants, hospitalists, emergency room providers, support services and others. * Lead or support onsite and community-based efforts that aim to drive patient engagement, access, population-based patient management, referral tracking, and clinical quality. performance evaluation. * Build long-term relationships with employees in the clinic, in the facility, and in the community. * Ability to explore and address upstream social determinants of patient health with care team. * Some evening or weekend hours may be needed to support expanded access in the future.
