We are currently hiring for a Bilingual Learning & Development Specialist for our Mount Pleasant, Iowa facility.

Job Summary:

Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for delivering various development topics, providing service and support for learning efforts throughout the organization, and support ongoing usage and availability of L&D resources and facilities. The L&D Specialist will also be a resource for both internal and external customers in all of their HR needs as well as leading the new hire orientation process. The L&D Specialist will provide support by delivering Human Resources services and policies, as well as assisting team members with any type of HR and development related questions and concerns they may have.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Delivery and thorough understanding of various developmental materials.

  • Customer service including internal marketing, coordination, and scheduling of learning events.

  • Maintenance of training room, educational supplies, and audiovisual equipment.

  • Maintenance of personnel, training records, and various databases; data entry as needed.

  • Prepare materials for learning events.

  • Verbal and written translation for training sessions, interviews, and other organizational communications as needed.

  • Be a resource to new team members through new team member orientation, support, and follow-up.

  • Act as a liaison between the Learning and Development Department/HR Department and other departments and team members throughout the organization.

  • Possess knowledge and understanding of leadership principles.

  • Show proficiency in presentation skills (various topics).

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, interpersonal skills and positive influence.

  • Ability to help in resolving business related issues.

  • Ability to analyze data to improve training opportunities.

  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the Learning and Development Department and the HR Department.

  • General HR Support for internal/external customers.

  • Flexibility of schedule to meet needs of team members on various shifts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bilingual skill set is required. English and Spanish priority.

  • Associate's Degree in related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resource experience is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.

  • Must be able to problem solve.

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.

  • Advanced computer skills including Google Suite.

  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.

  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.

  • Food Safety Certification through Iowa State University-required (WLF paid).

Summary: The primary focus of the Lean Manufacturing and Safety Specialist is to drive and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement through 6S standards and practices designed by NCI. Working with all designated manufacturing teams to constantly strive to improve the safety and quality culture, identify and eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce cost via the use of Lean tools and continuous methodologies. This position will focus on the value stream's performance improvements with the goal to yield zero unsafe conditions and behaviors, defect free products, on time delivery and an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities: * Commitment to our behavioral based safety program. * Together with the facility leadership and corporate safety teams, formulates general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company and plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. * Administer and sustain the facility 5S program for optimal workplace organization and safety. * Communicate regularly with facility leadership team, operations teams, and other continuous improvement leaders. * Inspects designated manufacturing operations to identify existing or potential accident, health and environmental concerns and initiates corrective or preventative measures where needed. * Actively participate in and/or lead process improvements to promote cross-functional ideas and solutions. * Participates in the investigation of safety incidents and quality and service issues. * Provide training and coaching to all operations team members on the practice of the Lean principles of waste identification and reduction and safe work behaviors as defined by corporate Safety and CI leadership. * Coordinate the completion of Safety and 5S audits and maintain their respective logs. * Maintain Safety and 5S training materials and records. * Maintains/updates SDS sheets. * Support ideas and/or concepts for automation through Value Steam Mapping CI events * Constantly seeks, shares and implements best practices.
