Early Childhood Educator / Home Visitor provides culturally sensitive home visitation services to parents and/or families beginning at pregnancy to the age 3 of a first born child, based on program curriculum and fidelity guidelines. Works closely with CHI St. Joseph's Children (CHI SJC) Enhanced Referral Services Program staff to insure successful connection of children/parents/families of home visiting program with needed resources and services.
1.Conduct home visits weekly and schedules visit times to meet the needs of families and the program (which may include some early morning, evening and Saturday visits as approved by supervisor). Hours may vary and Home Visitor must be flexible and accountable for managing time daily in an efficient and effective manner. Meets CHI SJC program goal for number of home visits weekly as assigned by Program Director and/or Team Leader. Provides regular shadowing / training opportunities for newly hired staff in the program.
2.Achieve competency in all training protocols.
3.Follow program curriculums (First Born and Partners for a Health Baby) and guidelines established by the curriculums and CHI SJC, including CHI SJC's Core Values and religious and ethical guidelines.
4.Maintain confidentiality of information at all times; obtain appropriate release of information as needed.
5.Connect parent/family with CHI SJC Enhanced Referral Program as applicable. Provide support to families as needed for those Referral Needs
6.Appropriately represent CHI SJC in all interactions.
7.Completes community family recruitment and outreach assignments as assigned by the Team Leader and/or Program Director and submits outreach documentation to the Team Leader on last day of month
8.Maintain family case records in the database: Insures that all notes, assessment data, and other data base entries are accurate and up-to-date and entered within 5 working days of the home visit, and provide timely and accurate reports.
9.Effectively meet needs of parent/family and child, respecting strength and preferences of parent/family.
10. Conduct Home Visitor Prenatal and Postpartum Visits and document such in data base.
11. Conduct Family Intake Registration Visits as needed and document such in the data base.
12. Acts and serves as an Advocate for young children and families
13. Completes simple housekeeping duties for the office including vacuuming, empting trash and cleaning bathrooms.
14. Completes other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Program Director, and/or CEO/President

Education / Accreditation / Licensure

Required: High School Diploma. Current NM driver's license and current liability insurance coverage.

Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education / child development field, elementary education, or other related field.

Experience

Required: Bi-lingual Spanish/English required.

Experience working with pregnant women and/or families and/or young children / population served by home visiting program. Ability to maintain accurate records and correspondence.

Preferred: Prior home visiting experience. Prior experience in child care setting.

Other

Required: Must have reliable transportation; clean driving record, current NM driver's license and current liability insurance.

Preferred: Certification or Degree in Early Childhood Education
