Join us as a Bilingual Family Support Counselor, where you'll coordinate services for youth and families in need, providing crisis intervention, counseling, and skill-building aligned with Wraparound principles and Seneca's values. Make a difference in the community and mentor clients to success in our foster care programs.

As a Bilingual Family Support Counselor (Spanish/English), you will provide culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed, and family-centered services and planning that supports a client and their family to achieve their care plan goals. The Family Support Counselor will work with clients in both the Wraparound and Placement programs:

As part of the Wraparound services: The Bilingual Family Support Counselor works with a team comprised of Facilitators, Clinicians, and Family Partners to coordinate services and plans for youth and families who are referred for Wraparound through social services, probation, post-adoption services or the San Jose Unified School District. While working in collaboration with county and community partners, the Support Counselor provides the youth and family with crisis intervention, mental health counseling, and skill-building support that is aligned with Wraparound principles and rooted in Seneca's mission and values related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. All services are provided almost exclusively in the community, including in families' homes, foster homes, schools, and congregate care settings.

Additionally, as part of the Placement services: The Bilingual Family Support Counselor works to ensure that clients placed in Seneca's foster care programs are successful in their placements by providing mental health support, skill building, crisis intervention, and case management services. The primary responsibilities are to act as a behavioral coach and mentor to clients referred into the program and in need of additional support.
