The purpose of this position is to have a Dental OT Lead that provides subject matter expertise and leadership to the Dental OT team resulting in a smooth running pod team. Serve as a role model to Dental support staff in terms of attitude, attendance, skills, hospitality and willingness to help others on the Pod.


  • Effective and efficient patient interactions:

o Accurate preparation for the patient visit.

o Excellent hospitality upon patient arrival and during the visit.

o Initiates, updates and maintains electronic medical record and electronic dental record.

o Registers patients into NextGen and updates family members and any changes in patient status.

o Accurate collection and balancing of patient payments.

o Proficient in enrolling patients and with the use of My Clinica Connection.

o Maintains cultural sensitivity during the patient visit.

o Quality scheduling of patients.

  • Supports pod flow:

o Monitors the schedule daily to ensure that it is filled accurately and completely.

o Assists with Group Visit recruitment and flow (site specific). o Facilitation of patient flow.

o Dental health record related tasks including but not limited to scanning and transferring paper records into the EDR.

o Assists other pod members whenever possible.

o Oversees appropriate cleanliness and activity in patient lobby.

o Reception and appropriate distribution of all clinic deliveries.

o Reports signs of abuse/neglect to a clinic manager.

o Proper telephone operations for patients and employees and lab vendors.

o Actively participates in Pod Huddles, including leading discussions and presenting topics, as needed.

o Supports Dental team with all planned care initiatives.

  • Leadership: o Maintains basic knowledge of various programs pertaining to Clinica reimbursement including Medicaid, Clinica Sliding Scale and CHP+. Maintenance of confidentiality at all times.

o Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Z-Pay, including appropriate utilization and ability to guide and direct Dental OTs as necessary.

o Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for verifying private insurance eligibility.

o Provides leadership and coaching.

o Active involvement on committees/projects.

o Support the interviewing process for new Dental OTs.

o Responsible for orienting/training new Dental OTs.

o Responsible for auditing Dental OTs.

o Report Champion for all data points related to Dental OT responsibilities.

o Cross train on various DOT duties for coverage as needed.

o Assist DOM(s) as needed. (Staff schedules, daily huddle, etc.)


  • Maintains a safe work environment by remaining informed of and compliant with the clinic's safety policies, and in particular by application of safe practices in area of own responsibility.

  • Compliance:

o Knowledgeable of and compliant with laws and regulations governing area of responsibility.

o Responsible for reporting any potentially non-compliant conduct.

o Cooperates fully with our Compliance Officer in upholding our Compliance Plan

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Assure that front desk equipment: fax, copier are properly supplied.

This individual may directly interface with clients regarding originating service plans, scheduling and supervising care. Primary duties for the Lead Caregiver include; Answers the phone and serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies company personnel of calls, messages, and visitor arrival; maintains security and telecommunications system. QUALIFICATIONS: * H.S. Diploma or GED required. * Hands on Experience delivering care in home care or health care setting. * Requires proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel and Scheduling program. * Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly. * Ability to carry out directions, read and write. * Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job. * Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills and customer service techniques. * Must perform and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently and work well under pressure. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Answers the telephone and may performs Intakes. * May orient caregivers and maintains current caregiver files in accordance with policies and procedures. * Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries appropriately. * Orders and maintains office supplies, forms and equipment. * May visit prospective clients/clients after referrals are made to introduce FirstLight Home Care. * Understands and adheres to established FirstLight Home Care policies and procedures. * May perform initial and ongoing in-home evaluation, caregiver introductions and supervision of services. * Completes appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per FirstLight Home Care policy. * Handles coordination of care for client services as they arise during assigned shifts. Fill shifts regularly when needed. * Reports changes in client condition to agency employees involved in clients care. * Maintains files for both Caregivers and Clients. * Included in the rotation to take calls after hours and weekends to handle emergencies, scheduling issues, and client referrals and intakes. * Assists with weekly schedule and contacts care providers to communicate day to day changes. * May perform continuing and on-going caregiver training. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Utilizes and maintains FirstLight Home Care computerized electronic platforms proficiently (ie. Teletrack, CRM program, etc) * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Works indoors in FirstLight Home Care office and client homes and travels to/from client homes.
