Bilingual Community Engagement Data and Funding Specialist
The City of Durham's Community Engagement Team ensures equitable participation from underrepresented groups in policy-making and decision-making processes that impact their communities. This includes enhancing community capacity to influence these decisions.
As the Bilingual Community Engagement Data and Funding Specialist (Spanish and English), this position collaborates closely with the Community Engagement Analyst to develop and manage data processes and products that support equitable engagement. You will gain experience in program and project management, research and data analysis, and training in equitable community engagement methods. Additionally, you will work on qualitative and quantitative evaluation and City engagement processes.
This role also focuses on developing tools and training to increase community participation in funding opportunities, including City contracting, in partnership with the Community Partnerships Manager. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, with occasional in-person requirements. Must demonstrate both reading and writing proficiency in English and Spanish.

Member Duties : Your primary focus will be on data and research, as well as preparing community members for funding opportunities. You will design and implement plans for collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, create tools like conversation guides and surveys, and offer data support to other City departments.
You will also explore innovative community engagement practices and effectively present data using visuals and presentations. Additionally, your role involves preparing for funding opportunities, conducting training sessions, and developing accessible content. Specifically, you will concentrate on improving equity in funding processes through research, implementing enhancements, documenting procedures, and forming partnerships with local organizations.
