Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Medical Assistant you will:

  • Be responsible for scheduling patients, obtaining authorizations, and managing prescription refills

  • Participate in Intake Disposition meetings and, along with team, ensure patients are triaged and seen in accordance to policy, and when necessary, explaining delays and apologizing to waiting patients

  • Obtain initial authorizations and assign cases

  • Responsible for ensuring that every patient receives excellent service and quality care, and is further responsible to report any deterrents to the Administrator

  • Serve as executive assistant for Medical Director including but not limited to obtaining and relaying accurate messages from patients, caregivers and relevant agencies; Assisting with medication refill requests, and serve as liaison with insurance companies

  • Obtain authorizations, file claims and make patient statements

  • Prepare Court and Open solicitation billing monthly

  • Prepare Quarterly Reports

  • Perform other duties in the office as required to ensure excellent patient service

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant/CMA required (NHA, ARMA, etc.)

  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Bilingual- Spanish Speaking preferred

  • 1-2 years' experience in a clinical environment preferred

  • Blood Pressure and EKG experience preferred; Phlebotomy certification preferred; 1-year experience preferred

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to handle a multi-task environment; strong organizational skills; Work within a team environment and enhance the working relationship within that team

  • Basic PC skills, Medical Terminology, Good verbal and written communication skills

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Float position; Candidate must be comfortable floating between different AMG practices in Silver Spring, MD

COVID-19 Vaccination

Tobacco and Drug Statement

Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine and drug use.

While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
