Children with Autism have a variety of developmental, learning, physical and emotional needs. As a Behavior/Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with our clinical team to achieve the following:
Responsible for implementing behavior-analytic services for assigned pediatric clients in our Hartford office.
Provide outreach services to children and families
Consult with team members to implement individualized services for assigned clients
Conduct visits with clients and relevant collaterals in natural environments according to the needs of the child and family
Maintain client records completely and accurately to include: Documentation of forms and regulations regarding intake and discharge of clients; Complete billing documentation according to schedule established by the clinic
Adhere to professional standards and guidelines according to respective disciplines and relevant certification
Maintain daily contact with program during normal business hours
Keep supervisor informed of progress of all clients
Meet performance expectations based on part time or full time status, as designated
Adhere to provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 119, Section 51A (Mandated Reporter); report all occurrences immediately to the program director
Adhere to clinical recommendations from clinical administration
Maintain confidentiality in all clinical matters
Participate in team meetings, supervision and in-service training as required
Participate in program development and team goals
Other duties as required
Qualifications of a Behavior/Mental Health Technician:
Must meet qualifications as set forth in section 17a-262-1058(f) of the regulation; Education and Experience: Have either (A) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health field, behavior analysis, or a related field, plus one year of full-time equivalent experience working with children with a diagnosis of ASD, or (B) An associate's degree or an equivalent number of credit hours with a passing grade from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health field, behavior analysis, or a related field, plus two years of full-time equivalent experience working with children with ASD; and 2. 18 hours of continuing education in ASD services within the last three years.
Must have the ability to communicate and speak fluent Spanish
Preferred experience in related field.
Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly.
A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance.
Ability to respect the confidentiality of and work within a home setting.
