Overview

We are hiring for Big Data Solutions Architect who possesses a balance of technical proficiency, business knowledge, and strong communication skills. The Big Data Solutions Architect will work closely with customers to understand their data related technology and business needs while designing a scalable, highly-available cloud solution. The Big Data Solutions Architect will also work closely with Solutions Architects and DevOps Architects, as needed.

Candidates are not expected to know the details of how the various technologies work but must be able to determine the appropriate technology to solve a problem.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Designing high-quality data-driven solutions for customers using a variety of AWS and 3rd party technologies

  • Staying up-to-date on AWS Big Data best practices

  • Providing "hands-on" training and support to customers

  • Providing data architectural reviews for customers to verify their Big Data environment adheres to best practices

  • Working closely with Solutions Architects to determine the technical needs and requirements of customers

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Technical degree (Computer Science, Math, Information Technology, Information Systems) or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years experience designing and implementing distributed data architectures

  • Experience with ETL and data migration

  • Understanding of technologies required for structured and unstructured data

  • Working experience with software development tools

  • Ability to learn and understand new technologies quickly

  • Strong communication skills must be able to communicate effectively with both developers and executives

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Proficiencies

  • Experience architecting solutions using AWS services including

  • EMR

  • S3

  • Redshift

  • DynamoDB

  • Proficiency in multiple data and programming languages/interfaces (SQL, R, Python, PySpark Node/Javascript, Ruby)

  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as consultant

  • Understanding of AI/ML technologies
