Brighter Brainis seeking a skilled professional to serve as an internal resource for our consulting firm in the field of Hadoop Development. Brighter Brain provides Fortune 500 clients throughout the United States with IT consultants in a wide-ranging technical sphere.
In order to fully maintain our incoming nationwide and international hires, we will be hiring a Big Data SME/Instructor to relocate to Atlanta (If needed) and coach/mentor our incoming classes of consultants. If you have a strong passion for the Hadoop platform and are looking to join a seasoned team of IT professionals, this could be an advantageous next step.
TheBig Data SME/Instructorwill be take on the following responsibilities:

  • Interviewing potential consultants to ensure all onboarding employees will be successful in the Big Data
    domain prior to
    each consultant onboard.

  • Be responsible for the design and maintenance of our best-in-class Hadoop development training materials

  • Training, guiding and mentoring junior to mid-level developers

  • Preparing mock interview situations to enhance the esteemed learning process provided by the company

  • Acting as a (SME) primary resource for individuals working on a variety of projects throughout the US

  • Interacting with our Executive and Sales team to ensure that projects and employees are appropriately

  • Prepping consultants for interviews for specific assignments involving development and implementation of

The ideal candidate will not only possess a solid knowledge of the Hadoop field, but must also have a fluency in the following areas (allowing for fluid interactions with other team members scattered across the entry to senior level spectrum):

Hadoop development and implementation

Experience with Data pre-processing and processing tools (ETL): Hive/Spark/Flink

Designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Big Data Pipelines

Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detail design

Knowledgable by using Streaming platforms (Kafka/Kinesis/RabbitMQ)

Being a part of a POC effort to help build new Hadoop clusters

Managing and deploying NoSQL databases
Skills Include:

  • 3+ Years of professional experience in the IT Industry

  • Bachelors Degree in the Computer Science field

  • Project Management background preferred

  • Good knowledge in back-end programming

  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python

  • Writing high performance, reliable and maintainable code

  • Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles and practices

  • Hands on experience as needed with training a variety of consultants

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proven understanding of Big Data tools

  • Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts

  • Knowledge of the Consulting/Sales structure

  • Able to relocate to Atlanta, Ga

  • Work schedule of 9 AM to 6 PM EST
