Our Consumer & Community Banking Group depends on innovators like you to serve nearly 66 million consumers and over 4 million small businesses, municipalities and non-profits. You'll support the delivery of award winning tools and services that cover everything from personal and small business banking as well as lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. This group is also focused on developing and delivering cutting edged mobile applications, digital experiences and next generation banking technology solutions to better serve our clients and customers.

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You'll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what's being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you'll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

Platform Engineers are key members of the team supporting the Data platforms heavily leveraging Hadoop and Greenplum. Candidates must be self-motivated with a strong background in technology and a proven ability to translate business needs into data rich, enabled applications and tools. Technical and intellectual curiosity is required, along with the ability to pick up concepts and techniques quickly in order to execute projects and solutions.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages

  • 12+ years' experience in Cloudera platform engineering experience, Advanced knowledge with Hadoop, Python, Apache Sentry, AD, LDAP, SSO, Kerberos

  • 5+ years of experience with software engineering and automation

  • 3+ years of hands-on working experience with Hadoop, Python, Apache Sentry, AD, LDAP, SSO, Kerberos, SQL

  • Ability to dive into details and troubleshoot technical issues

  • Good experience with UNIX Shell Scripting, Control-M, and Python

  • Understanding of consumption tools such as Trifacta, AtScale, Toad for Hadoop, Tableau

As a Software Engineer Manager, you will work with the business and IT leadership to understand IT business strategies and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. You will be accountable to Business and Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. You will prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff; manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems; and oversee Operations Monitoring and Capacity Management. You will also oversee formal performance testing process; help manage the relationship with internal and external services vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies; work with Application Developers and Business Managers to define and monitor Service Level Agreement's and negotiate appropriate support commitments for existing products; and interact with BITL Manager team and client users to understand and prioritize demand and suggest enhancements. Additionally, you will manage business baseline technology budget for application - related activities, approve ad hoc, non-application - related spending and seek ways to reduce baseline application – related costs.
