What you'll do...

Position: Big Data EngineerJob Location:805 Moberly Lane, Bentonville, AR 72716

Duties: Define the data elements and Business requirements for the Enterprise Data Lake. Analyze and strategies the programs to collect, store and visualize data from various sources and Design data elements into a structured Data Model. Design the Data Model at Enterprise level using Modeling tool like Erwin, Visio, Lucid Chart etc. Prepare and Document Metadata definition for Enterprise Data Lake. Design and development of Big data applications using Core Java, Scala; deploy the applications and workflow into cloud environments. Competent knowledge on Hadoop eco system using real-time streaming technologies using Spark. Experience with cloud-based systems including Infrastructure and Platforms as a Service. Experience working with NoSQL databases Cassandra or MongoDB. Experience with ETL Technologies and creating data pipelines; interpret business requirement converting to technical design. Writing shell scripts using Linux to invoke and schedule applications; proficient knowledge on version control system like GIT or SVN. Writing complex SQL and Database level program like Procedures, Functions, Triggers etc. using Oracle SQL & PL/SQL along with real time monitoring and Tuning the Applications using Database Tools SQL Explain-Plan, SQL Profiler, AWR report, SQL Analyzer etc.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus five years of experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with: designing, coding, and implementing programs in programming languages like C and C++; designing, coding, and implementing batch programs in Shell scripting; maintaining code versions using Git, Subversion, Power, and VSS; writing complex SQL queries to troubleshoot and resolve issues in Informix; developing web applications using J2EE technologies; Unix and Linux environments; writing complex SQL queries to troubleshoot and resolve issues in Oracle; designing REST Web Services using Java and Spring Boot; MongoDB; and ServiceNow Orchestrator. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Develops the Logical Data Model and Physical Data Models including data warehouse and data mart designs. Defines relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create a data model structure. Evaluates existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. Develops efficient data flows. Analyzes data-related system integration challenges and proposes appropriate solutions. Creates training documentation and trains end-users on data modeling. Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshooting supports.</p></li><li><p>Code Development and Testing: Writes code to develop the required solution and application features by determining the appropriate programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. Creates test cases to review and validate the proposed solution design. Creates proofs of concept. Tests the code using the appropriate testing approach. Deploys software to production servers.
