Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for exceptional data engineers/developers in our Data & Analytics organization. The Big Data / Full Stack Engineer is responsible for the delivery of a business need end-to-end starting from understanding the requirements to deploying the software into production. This role requires you to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others and have a hunger to learn on the job and add value to the business. Critical attributes of being a Full Stack Engineer, among others, are Ownership, Accountability, and Resilience.
In addition to Delivery, the Full Stack Engineer should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset. He/She should drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of the tools sets/processes.
This agile team partners with the Data & Analytics organization to provide solutions including ingesting large external data sets to ensure data integrity in maintained. Has a High Performance Provider mentality by maintaining high availability services such as anomaly detection and predictive analytics to help make decisions. Leverages latest technologies to integrate and present meaningful analytical insights into the data to both Healthcare Providers and Internal Cigna business groups to optimize affordability for all of Cigna's members. This team develops technologies that provide Cigna with the analytics to optimize affordability for its members. Our tools analyze historical data to identify insights, forecast trends, and recommend actionable items to improve total medical costs. You will have the opportunity to design, develop, and deploy new applications and features that will directly impact Cigna's bottom line, to ultimately provide better and more affordable healthcare. Our team uses a variety of technologies, from big data to the latest web frameworks. You will get to build state-of-the-art technology that is scalable and robust, utilizing cloud infrastructure, and full automation.

1+ years being part of Agile teams Scrum or Kanban
4+ years of working in an Object-Oriented language: Java, Kotlin, C, C++, Scala
2+ years of scripting in Python (OO), Bash, Java Script, Expect, etc.
2+ years of RDBMS SQL database experience. No-SQL variants (HQL, CQL, MongoDB) a plus
Experience working with large data sets in distributed data environments
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive or Spark
Experience using TDD and unit testing as part of normal software development using packages such as Postman, Jest, JUnit, PyUnit, Swagger, etc.
Experience developing in Linux and from within build environments such as Java Maven
1+ years of Experience with cloud technologies a plus, such as AWS/S3/Redshift, Hadoop, Snowflake, PostgreSQL
Experience with parsing and transmitting data in JSON, CSV, or XML formats
Experience with Git/SVN version control tools
Experience with defining and using RESTful web APIs
Understand and used Object Orientated design techniques
Experience with containerization platforms a plus, such as Docker, Kubernetes
Web development frameworks like React/Redux, Angular, Node.JS based systems a plus
Experience with configuring streaming data visualization tools a plus, such as Grafana, kibana, etc.
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration skills
Work in an agile CI/CD environment, (Jenkins/Ansible experience a plus)
Fluent in BDD, TDD, and Pair Programming development methodologies
Knowledge and/or experience with Health care information domains is a plus
