Aon Is Looking for an Insurance Proposal Project Manager

As a Proposal Project Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Bid Management Commercial Risk Solutions. The Proposal Project Manager will work on bids for our Aon Commercial Risk Solutions business units. He/she will write, revise, proofread, and finalize proposals in response to RFPs (request for proposals) and presentations specific to client situations. The opportunities will focus on our Risk and potentially the construction services / lines of business.
The Proposal Project Manager will lead, plan, develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations required by client solicitations. He/she will provide hands-on management of the entire full-cycle project development processes, including but not limited to: leading kick off meetings, writing customized content, monitoring timelines, editing documents, working on presentation deliverables, and ensuring compliance with the Aon brand.
The proposal project manager will work with colleagues across Aon Commercial Risk Solutions, as well as product and industry practice sales teams, subject matter experts and designers, to ensure that proposals and presentations reflect the best technical, management, and support offerings that Aon can make in response to RFPs.
The project manager is expected to assist in achieving national goals for new business and client retention via execution of the core responsibilities of the position, which focus on responding to offensive (new business) and defensive (retention / jeopardy) requests for proposal (RFPs) and presentations.
Your Impact as A Proposal Project Manager
Responsible for managing large and complex proposals and presentations
Continue to develop a practical and working knowledge of Aon Solutions (this includes, but is not limited to property, casualty, management liability, marine, and aviation brokerage and consulting)
Organize and lead proposal meetings ensuring a response strategy is established and implemented
Work with consultants and subject matter experts to develop customized content
Partner with the lead designer to ensure proposals and presentations are visually impactful
Lead presentation brainstorming and development sessions
May occasionally be tasked to serve as the presentation expert on the firm's large opportunities, occasionally traveling to coach teams in-person on winning strategies (this may include nationwide travel)
Receives limited instruction on day-to-day work. Primarily works independently to determine methods and procedures of projects.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
5+ years professional work experience in bid management required insurance and brokerage industry experience strongly preferred
Demonstrable background in the development of custom strategic content (leveraging strategic messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines
Experience with creating oral presentation deliverables, partnering with a designer and the account team
Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality (required)
Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Working knowledge of Proposal Management Software (SharePoint, Qvidian, etc.) strongly preferred
Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Excel knowledge required
