We are seeking a BI professional to help us evolve our "Rhythm of the Business" (ROB) BI from a quarterly manual process to an always-on, dynamic capability that helps our sales segments, corporate and field sales leaders and other key Microsoft leaders understand the health of their business and conduct outstanding insights-driven reviews.

Within WW M&O, the Sales BI team is chartered with delivering consistent, reliable and accurate insights that enable GSMO to meet its goals. This involves close partnership across GSMO, Finance, Engineering and IT to define the standardized views, metrics and data needed and to ensure these are delivered in the right format to drive the intended improvements to our operations. This involves a deep understanding of the business processes and underlying information to ensure appropriate, high quality and effective solutions are built and adopted. Additionally, this team provides thought-leadership to mature Microsoft's usage of BI as a key enabler to growth and productivity. We believe that powerful insights have a powerful impact on Sales!
We are looking for a unique BI professional who can drive both innovation and delivery into our "Leader Experience" which provides role-based insights for every field sales leader in the company. This role will be instrumental to our internal Digital Transformation as we aggressively move all our reporting into integrated Power BI dashboards that enable self-service for our field leaders to find insights and quickly coach and take actions to improve our sales.
The ideal candidate will be adept at learning and understanding Microsoft's commercial sales business in addition being comfortably technically with business intelligence concepts, platforms, data models and delivery technologies. Although not a highly technical role, it is hands-on. Proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, excel, etc.) and ability to actively design, create and deliver BI assets (e.g. Power BI dashboards and reports, excel reports/charts, etc.) is a must.
A strong desire is for this role to also help evangelize and drive our Global Sales Transformation through the smart use of insights. This requires a candidate who is comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, participating in strategic and executive discussions and influencing our approaches to maximize the impact we have on our sales organization.
Finally, a longer-term goal for this role is to help evolve and mature our usage of data to enable more prediction and advanced analytics. Although we have a great data platform approach, we are just beginning the journey of steering, reviewing and optimizing this platform to get to a single repository for leaders. This is a great opportunity to drive visible impact across the company in partnership with all key GSMO businesses and functions.

Excellent cross-group collaboration skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
Strong Business Intelligence knowledge and delivery experience
Strong Sales Operations and Business Management knowledge with ideal candidate having an understanding of the GSMO business review process
Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure successful technical fulfillment of business requirements
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Experience identifying, refining and implementing business requirements and writing functional specifications
5+ years of experience with Microsoft's Business Intelligence technology stack (SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Azure, etc.)
3+ years of experience using analytic techniques, structured approaches to problem solving, financial analysis and business strategy
Understanding of Information Management concepts and practices is desired
3+ years of experience in program management or technical project management
4+ years of experience in any of the following areas data analysis, business analysis, BI report or dashboard development
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience supporting sales
The successful candidate will have demonstrated cross sector, cross segment collaboration, at the exec level (GM and above), aligning standards and resolving issues that span organizations
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required. MBA is preferred

Core job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Partner with corporate and field stakeholders to provide BI capabilities that enable connectedness of our business reviews (leaders) with insights for sales managers and sellers
Evolve our reporting from excel to an "always on" experience that includes refreshed KPI's and refreshed charts and reports built in Power BI
Work in partnership across various teams to build all the assets used for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly business review
Provide direction and phases (i.e. roadmap) for evolution of this capability based from today to future state and beyond
Help facilitate the inclusion of additional insights (e.g. predictive data or additional telemetry data) into the BI assets (charts, reports, KPI's)
Facilitate problem-solving and solutioning sessions with business and technical leaders
Participate in a hands-on way by helping design and develop Power BI charts, visuals and other artifacts of the review. Note, most of the technical work (DAX, sql, deep excel work) will be done by other technical resources, but ideal candidate is comfortable enough to use Power BI and other tools to pull out data (KPI's, measures, etc.) and help build some of the assets.
Work closely with BI teams across the Enterprise to drive alignment of approaches and tools and drive down the overall cost of ownership for BI and Business Management solutions
Leverage partnerships and PM skills to ensure overall project success (technical, capability/functionality, deployment and adoption)
Analyze, define and refine business requirements and create functional specifications
Provide estimates for scope, schedule and resources, assess risk and identify key assumptions
Manage technical development resources
Develop comprehensive test plans to ensure objective quality measurement and engage stakeholders in User Acceptance Testing for ultimate buy-in
Drive training, process integration, and adoption of solutions to ensure value realization
Identify areas for continuous improvement in execution and productivity.
