We are currently hiring a Brewery BI Manager in Breinigsville, PA.
This is a new role on a team that is transforming Business Intelligence technology at Boston Beer. The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize data warehousing and business intelligence reporting projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role will also have management responsibility for one or more business systems analysts on the BI team, including hiring, development, setting goals and managing day to day activities and priorities. The project manager will be responsible for planning work, assessing resource availability, securing and managing external resources where needed, tracking and communicating progress on key Business Intelligence projects. The Project Manager must possess a deep understanding of strategic goals and implement technology solutions that make a direct impact upon the company mission. She/he must have a combination of technical, organizational and communication skills.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for all project management lifecycle activities including (but not limited to):
Initiating projects: Work with members of the business unit to clarify the current challenge, identify options to address it technically using existing systems or 3rd party vendors, establish high level scope and budget, quantify the business benefits, and propose recommended solution(s) via documentation and presentations to senior management
Planning projects: Perform extended requirements gathering, finalize scope, develop RFP(s), develop schedule to minimize conflict between business activities and concurrent projects, finalize initial project budget and timeline, document all above planning steps
Executing and Monitoring projects: Act as the primary point of contact on the project, moderate project status meetings, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, ensure projects are performing to scope, budget, and timeline, communicate changes, provide appropriate status reports to senior management and stakeholders, develop test plans and coordinate their execution
Provide support for implemented systems. As more serious organizational or technical issues arise, define the parameters of the problem and communicate to internal experts or third party vendors for resolution
Manage day to day activities of business systems analyst(s) as well hiring, coaching, development, setting goals and evaluating performance
Investigate business processes to gain in depth knowledge ahead of future IT projects and initiatives
Develop, improve, and champion good project management and project execution practices within the BI team.
Partner with other IT project managers and analysts to develop, improve, and champion project management practices at Boston Beer.
Ensure that projects in the organization are following Project Management Institute recognized and company adopted standards and best practices, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Partner with the BI team members to promote and evolve design, development, and testing standards
Adhere to IT department policies and procedures when performing tasks to ensure controls are in place and departmental goals are met. Adhere to standards for testing, documentation, and change management
Occasional travel may be required (<10%) to="" pennsylvania,="" delaware="" and="" ohio="">10%)>
What We're Looking For:
3 years of Information Technology project management experience (including development of functional requirements, testing plans, project plans, and overall project management responsibility.)
Should include equivalent of 2 years business intelligence project management experience.
Solid understanding of business intelligence systems, relational, OLAP and other databases. Data warehouse design, star schema, etc.
General understanding of ERP systems, financial, planning and forecasting, marketing systems etc.
Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology and consumer goods / manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Experience with SQL Server, Power BI, MS Analysis Services, Azure all helpful
Experience with sales enablement and digital marketing platforms
Experience within the alcoholic beverage industry experience (beer, wine and / or spirits) a plus.
