Bi-Lingual Heavy Equipment Operator, II

Job Description Job Description Job Summary: The Equipment Operator Level II will operate heavy machinery for demolition or excavation projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, rollers, bulldozers, excavators, or grading tractors.

Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation. Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in storm and sanitary sewer. Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.

Uses equipment to prepare building sites for mass excavation and storm and sanitary sewer. Working knowledge of GPS a plus. Inspects and fuels machinery and vehicles prior to beginning shift.

Performs routine maintenance and repairs and monitors gauges and other indicators for safe operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be willing to travel when necessary Required Skills/Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities. Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades. Excellent mechanical skills.

GPS knowledge Ability to follow instructions. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience. Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery. Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
