Job Description: BI Developer /Consultant

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a high capacity to learn and execute. Ability to trouble-shoot data issues with a quality control focus is important.

Main responsibilities:

  • Will be part of a multi-skilled BI Team working with clients, partners and colleagues
  • Design and Implement data integration, data quality, data profiling, and Data Integration and Big Data processes
  • Participate & lead business requirement and solution design workshops with customers
  • Perform data analysis, data modeling, and measure/KPI definitions
  • Develop and maintain data standards, processes, and templates to support data-driven analysis and self-serv BI
  • Will work closely with peers and technology partners to maintain high level of technology enablement
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve data quality processes
  • Identify the business implications of data-related decisions
  • Responsible to help define, date model and build data structures that will serve as the basis for business intelligence and analytics to clients and business partners
  • Perform logical and physical data modeling
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve data quality

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT and Data Modeling (Data Lake, Cubes, Kimball, Data Vault, etc) technics
  • Knowledge of BigData solutions, such as Hadoop, Cloudera will be an asset
  • Knowledge of Talend, Tableau, DBaaS (AWS & Azure), Power BI, Python, R, SQL
  • Demonstrated a strong ability and curiosity to learn new tools and technologies
  • Ability to conceptualize clients' needs and translate into solutions and implementation strategies
  • Experience and knowledge in data management, data modelization, datamart, data warehouse, ETL/ELT, development, OLAP
  • Knowledge of software or applications development life cycle and Java, .Net or Python
  • Bachelors degree in Computer or equivalent

The Bus Info Developer Consultant is responsible for developing and executing more complex data mining analyses. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: * Determines how decision support systems will provide the data required to make effective business decisions. * Performs modeling of information sources and flows. * May coordinate the activities of a project team and monitors project schedules. * Develops strategic report applications from the Data Warehouse. * Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues. * Develops and supports complex data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables. Conducts training on use of applications developed. PC, spreadsheet, and database skills, as well as experience in standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is also required. The majority of time will be spent programming.
