The BI Architect provides data management expertise to our clients in evaluating requirements and developing data architecture and BI solution design. Data management includes appropriate structure, stewardship of data, semantics/syntax of data attributes, coding structures, and mapping schemes.

Liaise and attend meetings necessary to perform duties and aid business and technical development
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Partners with business departmental teams to define and document business requirements
Architect, Designing, building, enhancing, maintains, and support data marts, and analytic engines, BI reports and Bi Transformation Code
Queries, analyzes, and interprets complex data stored in the target systems
Identify data quality issues and see through to resolution
Test and validate data flow, data cubes and reports
Assist in the Design of logical Data Warehouse architecture and data model, and implement physical design (schema, indexes, partitions, etc.)
Assist Design of ETL architecture including CDC, mappings, data flows, procedures, schedules, etc
Designing, developing, and testing data management matching, merging, consolidation, purging, and cleansing and extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) functionality
Apply Microsoft BI expertise in system architecture design and hands on development and maintenance of BI systems
Use agile methodology to perform requirement gathering, functional analysis, Iterative Design and development, testing, and deployment.
Installing, configuring, and, if necessary, customizing analytics management tools
Assist with hardware, software, and data communications architecture and sizing
Contribute to the development and support of ongoing production services
Bachelor's Degree in computer science
Microsoft Power BI certification is preferred
7 years of experience working with insurance data; understands relationships of premiums, claims, and reinsurance data
o Understands KPIs, contract, claim, and reinsurance data life cycles
7 years of experience in data warehousing and/or business intelligence unit working with business and IT
Very strong technical knowledge in ETL tools (SQL Server SSIS), Databases (SQL Server 2012), OLAP tools (Microsoft SSAS), Reporting Tools (Microsoft SSRS, Power BI)
Ability to work along or in conjunction with the DBA
Prior experience with implementation on AZURE Data Factory Architecture
Knowledge of SQL DW upgrade and cloud migration strategies
Experience with the setup and configuration of Power BI (Power Query, Data Management Gateway, SSAS Tabular Connector)
Understanding of operational issues and constraints (e.g. error handling, security)
Has good knowledge of standard methodologies, concepts, best practices, and procedures within a Business Intelligence environment
