Our Commercial Lines Actuarial department is seeking a Pricing Actuary to support the CPP line of business on our growing team in our Worcester, MA offices.
As a Sr Actuarial Assistant, you would work independently on difficult assignments within core actuarial discipline and have accountability for key work initiatives. You may mentor junior team members, prepare analysis and present results to management with recommended action. All of this while actively pursuing your professional actuarial designation with the support of our Actuarial program. This is a Full-time, Exempt role.
Provide actuarial support for rate and rule filings associated with the CPP line of business. Interact with Product, Compliance, IT and Legal teams and respond to state departments of insurance objections.
Support the commercial lines state review process by developing pricing strategies, measuring portfolio management initiatives and performing profitability analyses.
Collaboration with other commercial lines actuaries and analytics teams to help support analysis and communication to business partners.
Report out to internal business partners on rate actions and impacts by line and segment. Be able to identify areas of concern and propose pricing and underwriting actions where appropriate.
Be able to properly reflect the impact of both internal and external premium and loss trends in forecasting ultimate loss and alae ratios across the liability and property books of business.
Actuarial support of comprehensive product development plan that supports profit and growth initiatives.
Provide adhoc profitability and claims analysis
Actively pursue professional actuarial designation with the support of our Actuarial program.
Three to five years of experience
Three to five actuarial exams
Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Intermediate programming skills, including the ability to develop and automate processes.
Able to influence decision making and actions needed.
Ability to multitask and meet all deadlines with quality product.
