Job Description:

Provides health care services using medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and skill.

Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) program or equivalent. Certification (or eligible) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography. State Radiation Operator Certification

VIEW JOBS 10/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-16T00:00 Job Summary The Medical Lab Technician /UKHC will be responsible for assisting in the pre-analytical support for a fast-paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of the Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children's Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. This position is in the Central Processing/Receiving department within the Clinical Laboratory. The MLT will provide general laboratory receipt, processing, and throughput of patient specimens while adhering to HIPAA requirements. The MLT will also provide support to all other clinical laboratories within the Enterprise, as well as customer service for all internal and external customers. This is a team oriented environment and a successful candidate will be able to problem solve, troubleshoot, and multi-task. This CAP Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Multitasking, computer skills, customer service, troubleshooting, and ability to work independently or in a team. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience At least 60 hours of college credit completed and previous healthcare experience preferred.
