Bulfinch Temporary Service is looking for a Dental Assistant to work with the MGH Dental Group. The position is about 37 hours per week starting ASAP until the end of June. Please note that this position is temporary and does not offer benefits.


Mon 7:45am-7:15pm

Tue 7:45am-4:15pm

Wed 7:45am-4:15pm

Friday 7:45am-6:45pm

Dental Assistant Duties:

  • Perform chair-side four-handed dental assisting.

  • Exposes x-rays and ensures that x-rays are of adequate diagnostic quality, duplicate x-rays as needed.

  • Assisting in dental lab work.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Full dental charting

  • Perform alginate impression taking and pouring models.

  • Uses effective sterilization techniques and monitoring.

  • Sets up and break down rooms per department practice.

  • Monitors record keeping as required by JHACO and OSHA.

  • Perform other duites as required by the Administrative Manager and Dental Director.

  • Perform sterilizations as required by JHACO, OSHA, and Infection Control.


  • Knowledge and comprehension of Universal/Standard Precautions

  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability of Dental radiology

  • Knowledge and comprehension of Aseptic Technique.

  • Ability to perform chair-side dental assisting.

  • Effective knowledge and comprehension of infection control protocol.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • CPR Certified

  • Radiology Certificate to take dental x-ray

  • Registered Dental Assistant with MassGov

  • Vaccinations required from MGH

This position is 40 hours per week. Please note this position is temporary in nature and not eligible for benefits. General Summary/Overview Statement The Physician Leadership & Professional Development (PLD) team within the MGH/MGPO Practice Improvement Division is responsible for physician and professional staff training and development. In addition, the team manages physician work/life projects and initiatives for the MGPO. Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, the Project Manager for PLD is responsible for meeting planning and logistics for classroom-based professional staff education and training programs, providing back-up support for the Visitor Education Program, and is the primary contact for professional staff e-learning initiatives. This position requires a high degree of flexibility and excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously managing multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines. The Project Manager will be a key member of the team and will be expected to take an active role in helping leadership to develop and implement work plans that support short and long-term goals of the MGH and MGPO. This position requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize projects, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. The Project Manager interacts with staff across the institution and must communicate effectively with all role groups including senior leaders in the MPGO, physicians, and administrative directors and managers and must provide a high level of service and customer support. Principle Duties and Responsibilities * Manage logistics and meeting planning for classroom-based training programs: * Creation and management of project timelines * Coordination of dates, venues, locations * Development of program budgets * Responsible for drafting event specific budgets for leadership approval and managing programs to approved budget. Program budgets (for single events or multi-day events, budgets vary from $5,000 - $65,000 * Negotiation with vendors and hotels to contract for services with hotels, AV suppliers, restaurants and other service suppliers. Candidate will work within guidelines established by the program and the budget and will not need approval unless exceeding the budget * Preparation of classroom materials: Creation of materials for educational programs: agenda, faculty biographies, disclosure statements, learning objectives, etc. * Management of marketing, enrollment, and registration * On-site management for meetings and events * Prompt payment of invoices and requisitions * Primary contact for CME and CEU accreditation for PID programs, liaison with accrediting bodies, maintenance of requirements for record keeping, evaluation, and regulatory requirements for professional education. Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, the incumbent will * Complete applications for CME/CEU credit * Submit applications for approval to CME/CEU providers * Act as liaison between provider and PID department to ensure educational programs are within policy as it relates to funding, marketing, and disclosure * Work with PID teams to ensure program applications are made 2-3 months in advance of program date and meet all CME/CEU requirements * Distribute and collect all faculty disclosure forms * Create program materials (as above) and submit to credit providers for approval 1-2 weeks in advance of a program * Collect and tabulate all evaluation forms and attendance records and provide to credit providers within 1 week of the event * Primary administrative contact for HealthStream and required training internally at MGH with regular interaction with subject matter experts, vendors, and administrators across Partners Healthcare * Manage e-learning for new professional staff and resident and fellow orientation including assisting subject matter experts with content development * Primary liaison to Graduate Medical Education and residency program coordinators. Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, the Incumbent will * Work with GME leadership to determine elements of required training (under the supervision of the Required Training Committee) * Ensure content is received from the Subject Matter Experts by the appropriate deadline * Develop and disseminate communications for incoming residents/fellows regarding training * Coordinate data transfer from Human Resources to ensure all incoming trainees receive HealthStream access 30-60 days in advance of their start date * Provide regular communication and reports to Program Coordinators related to the status of their trainees * Assign training in HealthStream * Act as first line of support for Program Coordinators, "students", and the GME office for HS related questions * Assists and provides input to PLD leadership team regarding new programs, tools and other resources needed to support projects and initiatives. The incumbent will provide recommendations based on participant requests, trends in evaluation data, and feedback from training users/participants and his/her experience to ensure continuous improvement in all training program * Independently anticipates needs of all stakeholder groups and identifies and brings forward new ways to solve problems. The incumbent will be expected to think creatively and independently recommend improvements for processes and challenges directly related to their work * Develop and disseminate reports to senior leadership and management for training programs and performance * Facilitate training courses to support Practice Improvement programs for front-line staff and managers, the incumbent will assist in the development of content and conduct training for front-line staff * Enter, monitor, and maintain education/training related data in multiple data sources * Participate in PID functions, committees, and focused projects as needed Qualifications * Bachelors' degree required, with 3-5 years' experience in the healthcare or adult learning preferred * Experience with e-Learning desired * Experience planning meetings and conferences desired * Commitment to high quality customer service and teamwork * Strong analytic, problem solving and collaborative skills * Ability to cooperatively and effectively work with people from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy * Ability to understand the enterprise environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals * Demonstrated ability to identify problems and follow through until resolution * Independently motivated and a self-starter * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, work independently and collaborate with team members * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent presentation skills * Experience with computer software including MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word required Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required The candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain relationships with providers, management, staff, and vendors.
