THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT
TITLE: BFL/BBE(s) for DPT 21st Century Summer Program, Gr. 3-6*
Program Hours: As determined by Director of Community Programs (Director); appx. 6.0 - 6.5 hrs./prog. day, Mondays thru Thursdays (extra time for workshops and other duties may be required). Additional hours may be required for planning and as required by the Director or Prog. Mgr., including days before & after program calendar. Prog. from 7/8/24 until 8/1/24. Hrs.: 7:45/8:00-2:00/2:15+.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified/nearly certified, team-oriented high school Building Based Educator (BBE) preferred; Bachelor's degree and/or strong bilingual background preferred.
Prior successful experience as 21st CCLC Prog. BBE/BFL/staff a plus; excellent attendance record.
Familiar w/ MA Curriculum Frameworks & Common Core(gr.3-6) & 21st CCLC SAYO rqmnts.
Successful experience working with second language, LEP, SPED, at-risk or struggling students.
Excellent organizational skills, and unwavering commitment and dedication to improving academic standards and personal development of all program students.
A deep desire to work with educationally underserved student populations and their families.
Ability to work under health and fitness programming condition, and to work with iPads, Chromebooks, Newcomers, and STEAM & ELA curriculum, & outdoor projects.
First Aid certification and ability to speak Spanish a plus; and have ability to drive program/MPS van, e.g., on field trips, if needed.
Preference given to individuals that have completed ELL category courses.
Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some qualifications.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work w/teacher engaging and creative student activity that is inquiry-based interdisciplinary, hands-on, and student-centered; ability to work with iPads/Chromebooks; and excellent attendance required. One position may be dedicated to pending Gr.3 Play Pilot grant.
Support project-based &/or service learning enrichment activities for students.
Administer required student SAYO-Y surveys;Assist w/ meals program and parent pick-up/bus
Attend staff meetings, field trips, workshops, & family events as planned by site coord. and/or dir., and drive program/MPS van, e.g., on field trips, if needed
Complete DESE surveys (SAYOs) and other required documents accurately & in a timely manner.
Work closely w/ core content teachers to plan & execute academic interventions.
Provide substitute coverage for absent staff members, including coverage for staff meetings.
Maintain & submit accurate records of attendance & meals, follow-up w/ students re: consistent attendance, & work w/ students in health/fitness, STEAM focused progs. & outdoor projects
Communicate regularly with coordinators and sometimes parents, about program and students.
Other responsibilities as may be assigned by site coordinator, prog. manager, and/or director.
Positions may be split at discretion of Director of Community Programs
SALARY: $22.00/hr.
