Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a small team supporting a product subset within Mortgage BFC. Each subgroup within Mortgage BFC has 3 to 5 associates responsible for:

Analysis and verification of P/L and risk positions for the MBS trading desks.

Estimate trading P/L for trading desks based on daily market movements, explain differences to reported P/L

Communicate analysis to traders, Finance management, and other business partners.

  • Work with and provide oversight to analysts producing daily P/L to provide guidance on exceptions, complex transactions, and significant risk items.

  • Work with Trading and Technology groups to implement enhancements to current infrastructure.

  • Create tactical solutions to critical questions and enhancements.

  • Consult with various Finance analysts and drive the design and creation of tools used to support the business.

  • Utilizes thorough knowledge and understanding of product and trade life cycle flow.

  • Responsible for end to end daily P&L and B/S production processes.

  • Performs ledger closing of books during month end, posts journal entries, prepares and may review FOBO reconciliation between systems.

  • Coordinates and resolves any system discrepancies.

Required skills include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required

  • 5+ years' experience with P/L and risk processes

  • Experience with applying risk factors to explain P/L movements

  • Exposure to a trading environment

  • Very strong Excel skills along with experience or training with R Studio/Alteryx/Python or Tableau.

  • The ability to analyze, reconcile, and interpret large amounts of data

  • Strong detail orientation

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels

Desired Skills include:

  • Knowledge of mortgage back securities and accounting of financial instruments.
  • R-Studio; Python, Tableau, Alteryx, Fin Tech automation tools

This position will have the primary responsibility of performing customer risk reviews, analysis and ultimately making customer retention recommendations for customers within Consumer Banking under the portfolio review team. This will include conducting research and analysis on their own and also through reviewing escalations from our partners. Additionally this team member will assist in reviewing the program documentation and procedures to ensure execution and coverage are being adhered to and the program is continually evolving. Finally, this team member will partner closely with our analytics team (internal team within CB FCRC) and help provide qualitative analysis on various Consumer Banking Financial Crimes customer trends/risks for senior management. Responsibilities: * Review escalations from corporate partners on any due diligence concerns identified during their review. Evaluates risks to determine permissibility under sanctions regulations and/or BSA/AML regulations. Utilize risk-based decision-making tactics to determine risk appropriateness for Wells Fargo and recommend if the customer relationship should be retained or not. * Working experience with investigations, negative news/publicly available data research and Suspicious Activity Reports. * Participate with and help develop, deliver and maintain process flow, procedures, and training. * Participates in complex project initiatives as primary subject matter expert; may conduct enhanced customer research or assist with additional customer relationship retention projects as needed. * Consult with peers, line of business managers or other business partners regarding due diligence findings to resolve any issues. * Participate with and help develop corrective action plans as needed and effectively manage change to ensure regulatory compliance. * Provide qualitative analysis on all types Financial Crimes reporting and projects (AML/BSA, Fraud, etc) * Trending unusual activity referrals and work with management to provide feedback/trends.
