Beverage Steward - Full Time - Safeway 3836 (Non-Union) [Dnv]

PURPOSE: As a Beverage Steward, no one day is ever the same at Albertsons Safeway.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Establishing and developing relationships with customers by educating them about wines and beers. • Enhancing the customer shopping experience by recommending wines and beers as well as food and beverage pairings. • Maintaining superior customer service and increasing customer loyalty by having friendly, casual conversations with customers about wines and beers, as well as food and beverage pairings. • Developing and organizing unique customer tasting and sampling events by making the connection between beverages and cheese, meat, seafood, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. • Presenting and displaying wines and beers to attract customers. • Encouraging and promoting special orders. • Ensuring the proficiency and profitability of the department by executing marketing plans, monitoring/maintaining inventory levels and replenishing wines and beer products throughout the day. • Communicates with vendors on ordering and merchandising & marketing strategies and sales plans. • Stocks, displays, and rotates product in the liquor department to ensure quality, selection, eye-appeal, and proper inventory level to meet customer demands. • Creates effective displays for mixers, beer, wine, and other related merchandise in the department. • Maintaining department schematics, safety, and sanitation. • Implementing the department's monthly/weekly department merchandising plan. • Adhere to uniform and grooming policy as defined within company policy. • Performing other duties as assigned.
