Position Title: Beverage Manager
Position Reports to: Assistant Manager and Clubhouse Manager
Employee Category: Full Time Year-Round, Benefit Eligible
FLSA Category: Salaried Position, Exempt
The Beverage Manager will play a critical role in the functionality of the beverage department and its outlets at TCC. This person will ensure that the department is running smoothly and all member/guest needs and staff needs are being met.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily
Provide a warm and welcoming environment for the Club's members, their families and their guests.
Daily walk through of the entire clubhouse to ensure every room is properly set with beverage requirements
Train staff in the execution of the highest service standard to ensure total member satisfaction
Ensuring that bars are set up on time and with proper items as listed on the event writeups
Producing a daily to-do list for beverage staff as needed
Checking par levels to ensure the appropriate amount of cut fruit/juices/syrups are prepared
Stocking and organizing storage areas as product is delivered or as needed
Scanning event/consumption bars in and out or with the assistance of qualified staff members
Ensure proper sanitation standards and documents are maintained
Weekly
Ordering of wine, beer, liquor and non-alcoholic items
Reviewing event writeups and noting staffing needs and special requests
Create weekly schedule for all beverage staff based on operations and weekly events; assign bartenders to specific functions, tasks and duties.
Producing event pull sheets as needed
Drafting and processing billing statements from events
Review applications, schedule and conduct interviews, complete hiring process for all new beverage employees
Ensuring beverage outlets (e.g. Paddock, Golf Shop, Tennis Shop, Fitness, and the Committee Room) are stocked and chits are entered as needed
Tending bar if/as needed
Monthly/Seasonally
Menu Planning-e.g. assisting with wine selections and seasonal cocktail changes
Working with distributors to taste and hear about new products/wines for the menu
Conducting month-end inventory and reporting
Update the point-of-sale system when beverage menus or wine list changes occur; ensure accurate information in POS (menu category, revenue codes, and pricing)
Work with Dining Room Operations Manager to plan a la carte staff wine education tastings
Assisting with the development of the beverage program as a whole
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Club Tec Software is preferred
Excellent Wine and Beverage knowledge
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required
Exposure to a private club environment is preferred
Specialized Knowledge/Licenses Required:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds; May be asked to lift trays, boxes of wine or dry goods
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift for up to 10 hours a day
