We are currently hiring for a Hospitality Manager - Beverage for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome located in New Orleans, LA.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a domed sports and exhibition venue, located at the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Plans were drawn up in 1967, by the New Orleans modernist architectural firm of Curtis and Davis. Its steel frame covers a 13-acre (5.3 ha) expanse. Its 273-foot (83 m) dome is made of a Lamella multi-ringed frame and has a diameter of 680 feet (210 m), making it the largest fixed domed structure in the world.

Principal Function

The Hospitality Manager- Beverage will be responsible for ensuring product availability, quality, cost effectiveness, compliance, control and service for all beverages served throughout the unit.

The Hospitality Manager- Beverage oversees the daily operations of the beverage department by directing and supervising all employee activities within bars, lounges, stands and other outlets where beverages are served and ensures that standards and policies for responsible alcoholic beverage service are enforced.

The Hospitality Manager- Beverage will be responsible for ordering inventory, inventory controls, budgeting, and cash management within each beverage location. They are responsible for ensuring maximum customer service satisfaction by developing, implementing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures. They will oversee effective hiring, training and performance evaluation of all beverage personnel. He or she will work with the Catering and Banquets departments to ensure that Centerplate's financial and revenue objectives for the beverage operation are met through a focus on product education for sales growth and successful identification of expense reduction through cost efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maximize Centerplate's revenue and operational excellence through implementation and oversight of systems and policies related to Beverage operations.

  • Contributes to the efficient operation of business unit by partnering with Catering Director; provides information, insight, analysis, and recommendations to maximize revenues and profits.

  • Provide leadership and direction to beverage staff.

  • Contribute to goal of making Centerplate #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.

Qualifications/Skills

Required:

  • Bachelors degree and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience to facilitate on-the-job effectiveness.

  • 3-5 years of senior level food and beverage management experience within a complex, multi-faceted operation such as a large-scale hotel, high quality convention center, etc.

  • 2-4 years of previous beverage management experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and be available as business demands require.

  • Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with property management systems such as a Banquet Event Order Software.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.

  • Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards.

  • Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.

Other Requirements:

Requires lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to work in extremes of cold and heat. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities * Direct the day to day operations of the restaurant and room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner periods. Direct the day to day operations of the bar operations. * Manage the Human Resources in the various outlets in order to attract, retain and motivate the associates; interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate. * Implement company programs and manage the operations of the Restaurant, Room Service and any other food and beverage outlet as required to ensure compliance with LSOPs and SOPs, safety regulations and federal, state and local regulations to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality are provided to the guest(s). * Forecast, implement, monitor, control and report on the various outlet budgets and their components (labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, supplies, equipment, etc...) to maximize revenue and minimize expenses while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality customer service. * Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects. * Create, recommend and implement promotions, displays, buffet presentations and ideas to capture more in house guests and a larger share of the local market. * Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the various outlet areas and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service. * Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. * Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications * Minimum two years of post high school education. * Two+ years of full employment in a related position. * Extensive knowledge of beverage proramming and food/wine pairing. * Hotel experience preferred. * Requires thorough knowledge of the restaurant/hotel practices and procedures in order to perform non-repetitive analytical work. May require knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to determine course of action based on these guidelines. Supervision, management and communication skills are required. * Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
