Beverage Cart Attendant

Ongoing Recruitment for Part-Time, Seasonal (Summer) and Temporary Applicant Pool

This is part-time work serving the general public at City operated facilities through the sale of commodities such as prepared foods, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages. Work includes the set up and operation of a concession facility and/or motorized beverage cart; money handling; proper food handling; cleaning to ensure sanitary conditions; evaluation and stocking of inventory; preparation of the concession for service prior to events and closing after events; and set up of catered events. Employees in this role are required to make rapid and accurate change in the sale of concession commodities; and to exercise sound judgment, tact and excellent customer service practices in dealing with the public. Work hours vary depending upon frequency and duration of events and will include weekend, evening and holiday shifts.

Salary: $11.98 Hourly Plus Tips

To Qualify

Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:

• Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.

• Possess a valid Driver License.

• Have some experience meeting with and serving the public.

• Meet the legal requirements to serve alcoholic beverages.

• Have some experience handling cash in a retail environment.

• Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:

• Are highly skilled in providing excellent customer service.

• Have experience handling money, credit card payments, and cash registers.

• Are familiar with proper food handling practices.

• Have some experience assisting in catering events.

• Have some knowledge of the laws governing the sale of alcoholic beverages to the public.

• Have experience supervising workers in a retail environment.
