Job Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Supervisor provides consultative/tactical support to business unit management in the areas of Organizational Training, Performance Management, Health and Safety, Compliance, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Workforce Planning, and unemployment benefit cost control. He/She provides valued solutions to management for the implementation of HR initiatives.

The primary responsibility of this position is to help the organization achieve its business objectives through the effective use of its human capital resources. To do this, the HR Supervisor provides coaching on policy and procedures, employee discipline, retention, health and safety, and other issues. This individual provides guidance on performance and talent management, workforce and succession planning, and employee career development. He/She also promotes organizational change to ensure that HR initiatives are effectively implemented, and develops an effective consultative partnership with business management. Duties include developing plans to successfully execute initiatives, communicating plans and gaining support for initiatives, and ensuring programs align with business needs.

Other Duties

  • Provides coaching and guidance for business management to provide solutions for performance management, talent management, succession planning, and employee development.

  • Promotes organizational change and cultural transformation to ensure the organization's strategic and tactical initiatives are effectively executed.

  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge base, consistent time management skills, and strong organizational skills to provide an effective consultative partnership with business management.

  • Utilizes formal and informal feedback from business management to drive human capital decisions and demonstrate measurable value to the organization.

  • Promotes highly effective relationships with the service centers, business management, recruiting organizations, external customers, and peers, locally and globally, to share accountability and provide valued support for achieving business goals.

  • Shares feedback with Region level management on the effectiveness of HR processes with the service centers and HR function for the review and modification of HR processes and procedures.

  • Determines employees' training needs to produce continuous development plans; provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.

  • Coaches business units and service centers regarding best practices implementation of compliance procedures (e.g., reasonable accommodation, safety, etc.) to comply with federal, state, and local regulations and support focus on diversity.

  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition and business management to identify employee skill gaps and support implementation of employee development plans and learning interventions.

  • Conducts performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement.

Preferred Competencies

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of a business problem; recommends a solution to solve the business problem.

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of injury and crash prevention techniques; demonstrates a basic understanding of job methods; identifies root causes of injuries and auto crashes; recognizes and reports unsafe working conditions.

  • Describes broad purpose of labor and employment laws, such as sexual harassment, protected characteristics, and has a basic understanding of traditional labor legislation; demonstrates an ability to identify general instances of discrimination and other non-compliant employment practices.

  • Describes talent acquisition practices; assists in selection and hiring of employees; demonstrates awareness of employment specific laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifiers

  • Bachelor's degree in the area of Human Resources, Business Management, Employee Relations, or a related field ~ Preferred

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification ~ Preferred

  • Previous HR experience supporting a business unit or function ~ Preferred

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Is knowledgeable and competent in department scan protocols. Completes a minimum of (2) peer reviews on an annual basis according to Network Managers request and study required for review. * Reviews and prepares the daily schedule with the Ultrasound Manager or Patient Care Coordinator at the beginning of each shift. Gathers all patient Radiology file folders, reports and impression sheets for the day's schedule. Responsible for pulling Radiology file folders as needed throughout the day. Observes file room protocols for film sign out and return, and film jacket set-ups. * Ultrasound rooms are restocked on a daily basis at the end of the shift with laundry, SPD and Store Room supplies. At the end of each study room should be cleaned and ready for the next patient. Equipment is cleaned regularly with documentation of a minimum of 12 equipment cleanings per year. * Completes yearly-required competency assessments as set by the Ultrasound Manager. * Demonstrates competency in the use of RIS/HIS and telephone systems appropriate for their job responsibilities. * Assist the Interventional Nurse and Radiologist in preparing for invasive procedures, by setting up trays using sterile techniques, gathering necessary supplies, assisting during procedures and clean up using Universal Precautions and proper sharps disposal. Transports any laboratory samples to the lab following the procedures. * Possesses knowledge of insurance codes, Radiology procedure code sheets, patient charts and required paperwork needed for all procedures and department requirements. PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Frequent use of fingers and hands in operating equipment and for paperwork. Standing and walking for up to 7 hours per day in 60 minute increments. Sitting for up to 1 hour per day in 15 minute increments. Pushing, pulling and lifting patients and litters up to 300 pounds with assistance. Lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds. Must be able to do frequent bends, stoops and crouches. Must be able to reach above shoulder level. Must be able to hear and see as it relates to normal hearing and vision. EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology Program and/or Ultrasound Program. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year hospital experience, Radiology Department experience helpful and a minimum of two years of Ultrasound scanning experience in the area of abdominal, OB-GYN, small parts and some experience in vascular sonography. ARDMS registry required. Registry in Vascular Technology a plus. Current CPR certification required. Knowledge of computer basics a must. HOURS: As needed and as scheduled.
