Currently, ManTech International is seeking a Benefits Manager to join our corporate HR department in Herndon, VA.

Job Description

Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Total Rewards, the Benefits Manager will be responsible for the overall management, delivery, employee support and communication of benefit offerings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and manage all benefit programs for ManTech including supporting and educating employees in the use and understanding of available benefits, to include health and welfare and retirement.

  • Develop and implement plans and strategies for benefits supporting short and long-range business objectives.

  • Develop, recommend, implement and administer benefit plans that provide value to employees, cost-effective for the organization, and meet defined objectives.

  • Acts as a liaison with carriers, vendors and consultants on various matters to include plan design, vendor systems, Workday setup/management, contracts, coverage, renewals, enrollment, and administration.

  • Develop and administer effective on-going benefit communication strategy for employee population.

  • Ensure all company-sponsored plans are in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for required annual benefit related filings and audits.

  • Participate in vendor selection, negotiations, management, and oversight.

  • Partner with HR leadership to provide career opportunity and development for direct reports.

  • Engage with HR line leadership to deliver excellent customer service support to employee inquiries and communications

  • Seeks opportunities to create efficiencies and effective methods of delivery of benefits that enables a digital presence for employee benefits to include access to important information, communications, updates, claims administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience (2-4 years with management responsibility);

  • Subject matter expert in benefit related regulations (ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, GINA, and applicable other areas)

  • Strong experience in vendor management, to include third party administrators, brokers, and/or consultants;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS (Workday HCM preferred)

  • CEBS highly desirable.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to include presentation skills, a customer service ethic and capacity to deliver training on benefits programs, open enrollment, and changes to plan design.

Anticipate completion in 2019. The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 61,000 pilots at 34 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks a Senior Benefits Attorney for our Herndon/Tysons, Virginia, office. We are looking for an experienced benefits attorney who can build and maintain relationships with pilot governing boards, councils, and committees, as well as with the airline benefits professionals and outside consultants and advisors, while handling complex benefit issues. The Senior Benefits Attorney works in a fast-paced, collaborative culture, supporting pilot groups on issues that encompass the entire range of employee benefits matters, including defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, profit sharing plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and employee fringe benefit plans. Responsibilities: * provides legal support to pilot groups on benefit matters; * drafts, reviews, and analyzes pilot retirement, healthcare, and welfare benefit plans for compliance with the collective bargaining agreement(s) and applicable law; * reviews and analyzes proposed legislation affecting pilots' retirement, healthcare, and welfare benefits; * drafts ALPA testimony with respect to proposed employee benefits legislation; * drafts, reviews, and makes recommendations with respect to agreements between ALPA and its insurers, brokers, and other service providers; * interprets retirement, healthcare, and welfare benefit plan language and related documentation in connection with individual or group benefit disputes and testifies as a subject matter expert (SME) in grievance arbitrations; * assists in negotiating pilot retirement, healthcare, and welfare benefits, which includes reviewing current collective bargaining agreements in order to identify negotiable improvements and make appropriate recommendations; * conducts legal research and analysis and investigates issues relating to benefits matters; * makes presentations to national committees and pilot groups; and, * keeps abreast of legal, legislative, and administrative developments in employee benefits. Minimum Requirements: * Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Law (LLM) from an approved school of law required. * Member in good standing of the Bar. * Fifteen (15) years of legal experience in employee benefits practice, more preferred. * Comprehensive knowledge of ERISA, ADEA, ADA, USERRA, and the benefits sections of the Internal Revenue Code. * In-depth knowledge of the design and operation of retirement, healthcare, and welfare benefits. * Superior legal and analytical skills, with the ability to select the most effective and practical solution to complex benefits issues. * Ability to demonstrate confidence and executive presence in business transactions. * Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. * Ability to organize and coordinate long-term projects. * Excellent communication and presentation skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and use independent judgment to formulate decisions and/or solve problems, under time pressure and urgent conditions. * Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and manage complex projects in an ever-changing environment. * Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable advising senior management and key pilot groups. * Software: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. * Local, national and international travel, at times on short notice, is required: up to 35%.
