The Benefits Representative is responsible for the administration and coordination of various benefit programs for employees and ensures benefits are properly administered and delivered. General activities include, but are not limited to:
Handles employee concerns, eligibility and transaction issues. Escalates issues to supervisors when appropriate. Requires working with employees, managers, HRBPs, and vendor partners.
Called upon to execute manual processes but always with a focus to streamline, automate and or standardize the process going forward.
Assists in developing benefits communications for employees.
Aides in the coordination and monitoring of new hire and open enrollment processes, benefit meetings, health fairs, life event changes and benefit payments.
Supports benefit team through ad hoc reporting, data collection, reporting and analysis work.
Supports special projects such as vendor audits, new vendor implementations, wellness initiatives, etc.
Research and assist in resolution of benefits and eligibility issues. Determine root cause if issues arise and see resolution through to completion.
Compiles statistical reports for department
Audit and approval of weekly benefit eligibility reports.
Financial tracking against budget; track credits/rebates, high claimants, weekly claims tracking and reporting. Identify and report trends.
Reconciliation of payroll deductions to benefits enrollment
Process invoices perform monthly audits to benefits administration system, and calculates employee benefit refunds
Suggest and implement steps/processes, including technological improvements to make the administration of benefits more efficient.
Provide support for annual open enrollment
Supports health and welfare benefits team with data analysis, audits and special projects
Data gathering / research for Actuarial Calculations
Email / AskHR Salesforce / Businessolver Case response handling
Some experience desired related to benefits experience in administering and coordinating company sponsored benefit plans.
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
Ability to work as a member of a team
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excel skills required.
Demonstrates resourcefulness, excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
