SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Benefits Manager for its Reston, VA office. The Benefits Manager will report to the Human Resources Manager and be responsible for managing SOSi's comprehensive benefit programs. This person will manage employee benefits in all company operations. This position provides guidance and assistance to all locations on various employee benefit plans.
Essential Job Duties:
Researches and analyzes industry trends to ensure competitiveness of company's benefit programs
Develops, recommends and implements approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies
Supervises administration of existing plans
Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee
Organizes health and wellness events including webinars, vendor presentations and annual wellness fair
Manages relationships with benefit vendors
Develops and administers internal benefit surveys, analyzes results and formulates recommendations for review by management; participates in external industry surveys
Assures company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Affordable Care Act. Supervise preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and report necessary or suggested changes to management.
Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
Supervises maintenance of enrollment and claims records for all benefits plans
Related Bachelor's degree in HR, or similar; or equivalent experience
10 or more years of experience in benefits administration, preferably at a government contracting firm with a global workforce
Minimum of three years' experience in a Federal Government Contracting environment
Minimum of two years' supervisory experience
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, time management skills and communication skills
Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent writing skills with the ability to develop content and edit copy
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Ability to maintain and manage confidential information
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Compensation experience desired
Working conditions are normal for an office environment
Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends, when necessary
May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
