Family Central is looking to hire a full-time Benefits Enrollment Specialist to help our diverse population of clients in Miami Dade complete benefits enrollment applications and follow-up with referred clients.

This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to work a flexible schedule (some evening and weekend hours required), who has excellent organizational and case management skills, and experience interacting with benefits programs or providing case management services. This is NOT remote work, it is an office/field position.

ABOUT FCI BENEFIT ENROLLMENT SERVICES PROGRAM

This service helps families navigate the complicated benefits system by supporting application completion and submission along with referrals to community organizations. This program is available to low-income families with children ages birth to 17 years old in Miami Dade County.

As a Benefits Enrollment Specialist you will be responsible for providing benefits enrollment services for participants in their home, virtually, at community meetings, and special events in Miami Dade County. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain participant files, and submit monthly data and reports to Coordinator.

  • Collaborate with other staff to assist referred clients with the benefits enrollment program, enrich skills and knowledge of benefits.

  • Attend benefit enrollment activities and meetings with funders as requested or in the manager's absence.

Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred; and two (2) years of related experience.

  • Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours.

  • Must be computer literate with a solid foundation in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to visit clients in their home. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required.)

  • Experience interacting with benefits programs or providing case management services preferred.

  • Experience working with databases helpful.
