Covenant Community Care, a faith based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit, has an immediate opportunity for a full-time insurance benefits coordinator to work at its Joy/Southfield Detroit clinic. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we offer integrated medical, dental and behavioral health care to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
This role works with Covenant Community Care patients who may qualify for public and in-house healthcare plans and guides individual patients and families through the application process, including: New patient registration and orientation, conducts financial assessment and determines patients expected payment and in-house administration of Covenants Good Samaritan assistance program.
Successful candidate will possess a minimum of high school diploma and/or equivalent and have solid familiarity with eligibility programs such as Medicaid and Medicare, managed health care plans and commercial insurance payers. Past experience in working with Electronic Medical Records EMR systems, online marketplace and State enrollment features as well as experience with referrals to specialty medical and/or community resources is highly preferred. Knowledge and use of EPIC is a plus.
