Human Resources develops and implements people strategies to support Wells Fargo's business objectives. This group manages compensation and benefits, human resource service centers, systems and payroll, finance, team member relations and assistance, talent management, learning and development, and recruiting. The Benefits Consultant 3 on the Retirement Services & Financial Health team, reports to the 401(k) Plan Manager and is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the Wells Fargo & Company 401(k) Plan. The consultant will be responsible for executing on the communications strategy, leading work streams under larger-scale Benefits or HR projects and may manage projects related to their scope of responsibilities and operational tasks. This individual will effectively partner with other Benefits Consultants, the record-keeper, trustee, HR Communications, Wells Fargo Legal, HR Compliance, Risk, Audit, Payroll and others across the organization to ensure our plans are effectively managed, procedures are adhered to, and our projects support HR strategic priorities and corporate goals.
Essential Position Functions:
Responsible for monitoring one or more retirement programs designed to meet company, team member and retiree needs.
Champion initiatives to improve plan and participant retirement readiness and financial health by gathering and analyzing information regarding the retirement plans and participant behaviors and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on a communications strategy.
Review participant communication materials and partner with stakeholders to facilitate delivery.
Coordinate updating required plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other compliance notices.
Participate in retirement projects as a subject matter expert, serve as work stream lead for a variety of projects, and lead smaller projects related to scope of responsibility.
Represent the Retirement Services and Financial Health Team and serves as subject expert in projects that affect benefits delivery.
Oversee vendor relationships including day-to-day operations, customer experience, reconciliations and escalations.
Oversee robust governance and operational processes for our vendor partners to ensure continued strength of operational execution and risk mitigation.
Conduct regular vendor reviews and ongoing due diligence and oversight of benefit plans.
Coordinate responses to internal and external benefit plan audits and implement enhancements based on audit findings.
Consult with colleagues to formulate recommendations regarding changes to plans.
Identify, define and resolve complex issues, which require an evaluation of various factors; implement solutions.
Act as subject matter expert for plan interpretation for the service centers and vendors.
May serve on or support a committee (i.e., Claims Committee, Appeals Committee, Asset Allocation Committee).
May serve as subject matter expert on mergers, acquisition and divestitures.
Analyze benefit plan metrics to help inform future strategy and tactics to achieve plan goals.
Continuously seek opportunities to aggressively manage costs.
Establish and maintain relationships with peers, managers, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure plan goals and operational excellence are being met.
Location: Candidates must be able to work on-site in either Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN.
