Benefits & Compensation Business Systems Analyst

The BSA serves as the primary contact for any questions related to how the system works from both a business and technical perspective. The analyst partners with business liaisons to translate requirements into technical specifications and does configuration of systems and partners with developers for custom development work. The analyst also performs basic cost-benefit calculations, interdependency analysis, and prioritization exercises related to system changes. Requires ability to travel 25% and get embedded with our operators in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with HR and Benefits stakeholders to understand, gather, and document requirements for Benefits & Compensation related projects and initiatives.

  • Analyze time tracking/payroll processes, workflows, and data to identify areas of improvement or optimization within different systems.

  • Translate requirements into functional specifications and configurations and enhancements with systems.

  • Liaise between Operations, HR team, vendor partners and IT development teams, ensuring that systems' integrations and configurations meet business needs.

  • Execute the unit testing and oversee the business testing of solutions, ensuring that implementations align with business requirements.

  • Execute and partner with deployment specialists to provide support and training to users on technology functionalities, helping them make the most of the system.

  • Monitor payroll metrics and analytics, offering insights and recommendations for data-driven decision-making.

  • Manage enhancement timelines and partner with PMO on project timelines, ensuring deliverables are met within stipulated timeframes.

  • Stay updated on system updates, features, trends, and best practices to ensure optimal use of the system.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience in Workday configurations, modules, and report creation.

  • Understanding of data integration methods and best practices for Workday.

  • Familiarity with Workday system architectures and the interplay of different Workday and other system modules.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and techniques specific to Workday metrics and KPIs.

  • Ability to design and document Workday workflows, processes, and data flow diagrams.

  • Strong grasp of data privacy and compliance standards relevant to benefits data.

  • Experience with Workday updates, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycles Agile, Scrum & Kanban.

  • Knowledge of tools or methodologies for requirement gathering, like Jira, Confluence, Draw.

SOFT SKILLS

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.

  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.

  • Ability to partner with software engineers and quality analysts to identify course of resolutions.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent prioritization skills.

  • Strong communication skills.
