Benefits Analyst

MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Subject matter expert for all leave of absences, disability, FMLA, ADA and State claims. Responsible for disability calculations, reporting, communications, and the management of the vendor.
• Administer various benefit programs which include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA plans, HSA accounts, commuter benefits, EAP, and the Company's 3 pension plans.
• Point of contact for various benefit issues such as coverage, enrollment eligibility, family status changes, claims, and other benefit matters.
• Understanding of all applicable government laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels, which impact employee benefits.
• Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, consultants, actuaries, brokers, record keepers and third-party administrators.
• Manage premium payments and the reconciliation of various benefit premiums/claim payments.
• Audit records and benefits eligibility periodically.
• Resolution of employee issues and data and vendor errors.
• Ensure data integrity for online enrollments and file integrations to carriers and internal systems.
• Prepare and maintain departmental billing.
• Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
• Develop and implement communication/education programs to enhance member knowledge, appreciation, and effective use of benefits.
• Maintain employee communications on company intranet.
• Gather health benefits information from a variety of sources for completion of benefit projects.
• Assist with annual open enrollment projects.
• Assist with the administration of retirement plans (401(k) plans and pension plans)
• Work on projects that may be assigned ad hoc and assist other corporate initiatives, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting or Business Administration or relevant job experience.
• Minimum 4 years Corporate Benefits experience in an organization with 300+ employees
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong problem solving, organizational, analytical and time management skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral).
• Must have strong working knowledge with human resource information systems.
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
