ABOUT THE ROLE
The Benefits Analyst researches employee benefits packages, and is the employees primary contact for benefit questions, programs and life events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines employee benefit interests by conducting employee surveys; forming focus groups; analyzing responses.
- Recommends employee benefit programs by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, and interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage.
- Explains employee benefits by conducting meetings; preparing written and graphic announcements and explanations; responding to requests.
- Provides management planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing employee benefit data and trends.
- Maintains employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Works with insurance carriers/UKG to update/simplify feed structures
- Ensures file feeds are transferring to carriers in a timely/correct manner
- Handles Benefit carrier billing
- Manages Direct billing for team members who are on a Leave of Absence
- Reviews/prepares the 1095-C filings for the company
- Assists with annual auditing processes for 401(K) and Annual Benefit Enrollment
- Assists in the configuration of Annual Benefit Enrollment by working with the HRIS provider and consultant to ensure that file feeds are updated, rates and information within the system is correct and tested before going live
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years' experience in human resources focusing on US benefits
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, employee benefit programs, including flexible benefit programs, financial analysis and budgeting
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, planning and problem-solving skills
- Must have superior organizational skills and be able to prioritize and work simultaneously on several projects.
- Able to work independently as required to complete assigned tasks, and operate within a team environment
- Able to shift priorities and effectively perform under pressure.
- Demonstrated capability in building trusted partnerships at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
