JOB SUMMARY:
The Benefits Analyst position will provide technical and analytical support to the Benefits Department in the delivery and accounting of company-sponsored benefit plans, while ensuring benefits compliance with Unions, Service Contracts, ACA, and ERISA. This position will have oversight of and responsibility to support the Company's benefits accounting functions of auditing and reconciling enrollments, premiums/deductions and 401(k) true-ups. Preferred location is Anchorage, AK, remote work will be considered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Audit and reconcile plan enrollment and termination data.
Audit and reconcile deductions and contributions in CostPoint.
Audit and reconcile BEFs submitted to payroll.
Prepare and/or audit check requests to be submitted to Accounts Payable for detail accuracy per A/P processes, including:
Benefit vendor payment;
Benefit claims payment;
Union payments: pension, dues, H&W;
Other necessary benefit-related payments.
Audit and reconcile FSA/HSA deductions to vendor upload files; oversee uploads are transmitted to vendor.
Work closely with GL Benefit Accountants and assists GL benefit reconciliations.
Develop and maintain workflows on processes and procedures for benefits HRIS.
Serve as Benefits Department POC/liaison with Finance Department regarding benefit related issues and pension audits.
Assist with employee enrollments, open enrollment, and benefit orientations.
Provide backup to other Benefit Department staff members.
Provide assistance to update and maintain benefit records and other documents in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Assist with annual 401(k) audits.
Assist with compliance audits.
Provide ongoing customer services with employees and Union/SCA representatives.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as directed.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
This position has no supervisory functions.

This position requires the successful candidate to be onsite Monday - Friday during normal business hours with hybrid teleworking optional pending demonstrated job performance. The specific schedule will be determined based on the needs of the team and the successful candidate's demonstrated job performance.
