Position Summary:

The Benefits Analyst operates as a resource to the Employee Benefits group, Advisors, clients, insurance company partners and prospects by providing a prompt, efficient and high-quality service. They are willing to build and maintain colleague relationships, face new opportunities, and learn and research independently when needed.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness and completion when interacting with clients, the firm and insurance company partners to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims while demonstrating strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Produces required reports and extracts from appropriate agency management system(s).

  • Receives and maintains benefits administration requests from assigned accounts including eligibility management items such as adds, changes and terminations in benefit administration systems.

  • Provides secondary Employee Care Center support for all Employee Benefits group clients.

  • Provides claims advocacy for clients.

  • Assists with collating EBG presentations and marketing materials.

  • Is responsible for client enrollment kit fulfillment that involves revising necessary materials, printing, scheduling with clients, and presenting the open enrollment meetings, in person or via e-presentation.

  • Generates external communications, including but not limited to benefit administration, claims, renewals, evidence of insurability, COBRA, and client concerns, as needed.

  • Cultivates strong relationships with insurance company partners.

  • Responsible for knowing the requirements and attributes of all insurance company partners while maintaining in-depth knowledge of the company and their website resources.

  • Is available as a secondary resource to clients if primary resource and/or team is unavailable.

  • Maintains compliance documents and performs updates to them when necessary.

  • Responsible for communications and providing printed materials to clients, employees, and vendors, with regards to COBRA renewals.

  • Responsible for communications and providing printed materials to the Employee Benefits group, insurance company partners, and clients, about the renewal process.

  • Conducts effective enrollment meetings, as needed.

  • Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, Business Segment and processes. Brings issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
  • Current Florida 2-15 License, as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions or be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Publisher and Brokerage Builder.

  • Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written communications.

  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks while using strong reasoning and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrates core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with the firm's culture.

Fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

Travel may be required.

SUMMARY Responsible for working with account team in processing renewals, conducting and analyzing marketing, preparing financial summaries and providing general technical support for assigned fully-insured and self-funded accounts. Performs a variety of analysis including provider network analysis and carrier utilization analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Gathers, reviews and validates all information related to assigned clients for renewal analysis and marketing purposes, gaining comprehensive familiarity with client's current details and history; * Coordinates with account team to understand strategy for client renewal and define roles and responsibilities. Revisits as needed throughout the renewal development process; * Understands and clarifies clear outline of renewal project action items, including all deadlines; * Collaborates with all current insurance carriers and vendors to obtain preliminary and/or firm renewals and prepares initial financial summary and benefit highlights; * Presents preliminary renewal summaries to account team to determine plan options and/or marketing strategy; * Reviews all marketing and plan option responses, evaluates for accuracy and completeness, and requests clarifications and revisions as needed; * Creates new financial reporting package from templates as needed; * Presents all marketing results and plan options to account team (spreads), works with account team to develop negotiation strategy, and executes negotiation strategy; * Presents all final results to account team; determines content and structure of renewal presentation and identifies additional analytical support materials (i.e.; utilization review, contribution strategy, benchmarking, financial reporting, etc.); * Completes all additional assigned work projects for renewal presentation; * Handles ongoing (monthly/quarterly) client maintenance projects as determined by account team; * Reviews team members work for accuracy and completeness as needed; * Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information); * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Business or Mathematics preferred. 1 - 3 years related work experience Valid insurance license (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment) Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal Basic knowledge of compliance topics (HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, Medicare). Basic knowledge of programs (know of existence and how to get a quote).
