The Benefits Administrator will support and deliver the U.S & Canada health and welfare programs as part of Axalta's total reward experience - under direction of the Global Director, Total Rewards. The Benefits Administrator position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service and aides in the deliverance of Axalta's quality benefits plans to employees. This role will also support the internal Human Resources team for any HR related coordinator and/or administrative functions as needed.
Serve as primary contact and liaison for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts and vendors for services, premiums and plan administration in conjunction with the internal HR Operations team and respective HRIS system(s).
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, compliance testing, etc.
Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records within HRIS system.
Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of invoices and purchase orders for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments. Review data in conjunction with Global Director, Total Rewards.
Provide customer service support to internal and external customers and employees as needed. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package and work with HR Business Partners to cascade communications within the Organization.
Distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to Human Resources department for benefit administration.
Reconcile and approve benefit payroll funding amounts for respective vendors once payroll processing is completed.
Serves as the HR Coordinator for the Glen Mills location which includes but is not limited to on-boarding (to include background check and pre-hire requisites) and off-boarding employees within the North America region, invoicing, mailing, and other administrative functions as requested.
Partner with Health Care services to administer Short Term Disability payroll processing.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
3-5+ years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and cross-culture communication skills, with an emphasis on interpersonal and group communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster positive working relationships, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Strong analytic ability and advanced skills with analytic tools, especially MS Excel; mastery of formula-based functions such as v-lookups, data manipulation, and pivot tables.
Ability to travel as needed to various sites with North America region.
