Kaman Distribution Group (KDG) has a vacancy for a self-motivated, attention to detail and result-driven candidate to join our Employee Services team in Bloomfield, CT.
Review and evaluate current employment-related programs for opportunities of automation and improvement; implementation and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws.
Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of HR data, records and communications including entering benefit, salary, address change, job/cost center changes, new hires and terminations in the Enterprise HRIS system.
Coordinate onboarding for new hires and termination processing for exiting employees.
Provide assistance with creating and communicating corporate policies, procedures, and benefits.
Coordinate employee FMLA and Short Term Disability leaves with third party vendor.
Assist with managing the Fit for Life wellness program and Wellness Committee.
Establish and maintains confidential files and records including employee data entry in the Enterprise HRIS, creating and generating reports as required.
Responding to inquiries from employees, HR Managers and both internal and external partners. Research problems, recommend solutions and resolve in a timely manner.
Assist with other HR Department projects as assigned and benefit open enrollment initiatives.
Complies with statutory requirements, Kaman Benefit Plan provisions, HR SOX Procedures.
Work closely with the Payroll Department to ensure accuracy of all current benefits deductions, annual deduction changes, and additional deductions, as they occur.
This position, Benefits Administrator, requires familiarity with, training in, and understanding of the general requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as well as HIPAA Policies and Procedures adopted and maintained by Kaman Corporation's HIPAA covered group health plans. The position will require the individual holding it to come into contact Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA on behalf of the group health plans. Therefore, the person holding the position of Benefits Administrator will be required to properly maintain, use and/or disclose PHI as set forth under the law and documented in Kaman's HIPAA Policies and Procedures and to undergo initial and periodic training as may be deemed appropriate by Kaman and or the group health plans.
