Ask us about our $2,000 Relocation Assistance! Program Overview Youth Villages Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems.
Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom.
This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings.
We have three different types of facilities Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes.
Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed). Position Overview The Behavioral Youth Counselor, also known as a Teacher Counselor:
Teaches the children necessary life skills and provide for their physical daily care.
Assists in treatment planning for each child.
Conducts daily documentation such as contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes.
Participates in client transports to various locations Participates in recreation therapy with children.
Improves childrens behavior through coping skills and other therapeutic interventions.
Conducts group and 1 on 1 counseling sessions Additional Information The TC (Teacher Counselor) schedule runs either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat Three weekdays: (M-W or W-F) 2:00 pm-10:30 pm One weekend day: 6:30 am-10:30 pm Some TC's spend the night once or twice a week on the campus and have additional responsibility for waking the residents and directing them with their morning routine.
This schedule also provides counselors with a three day weekend.
(Please note: Counselors do not live on the campuses and are responsible for securing their own residencies.) Each campus differs on their schedule structure and rotations and can be discussed further with a specific hiring manager.
The supervision and treatment of youth requires prolonged periods of walking and standing and physical agility.
May be required to run and climb flights of stairs.
Must be able to participate in physical interventions with youth when necessary.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR training.
Applicants are required to pass an agility and strength evaluation.
Applicants must have valid driver license.
Requirements A Bachelors degree is required Experience working with at-risk youth a major plus Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Basic computer knowledge Ability to maintain a flexible schedule Experience growth and development through our continuous training, as well as tuition and licensure reimbursement, or pursue opportunities to advance both clinically and administratively with Youth Villages.

In 2017, 86 percent of the children are still living successfully at home with their families 24 months after completing their program.<br />  <br /> As a leader in the field of children’s mental and behavioral health, Youth Villages earns its status as one of the nation’s most promising results-oriented nonprofits, as recognized by Harvard Business School, U.S. News & World Report and the White House.<br />  <br /> For more information, please visit www.youthvillages.org<br />  <br />  <br /> <strong>Position</strong><br />  <br /> The Associate Director, Business Planning and Special Projects (Associate Director) will work closely with the Youth Villages marketing and leadership team (including officers and directors) with a focus on supporting the organization’s growth of direct services.  Based in the Youth Villages’ Memphis headquarters or in Nashville, and reporting to the Managing Director, Business Planning and Policy, s/he will support facilitation of strategic planning processes (at each individual state level) and assist state leaders in identifying and analyzing of potential growth opportunities. <br />  <br /> This is a unique and high-growth opportunity for a passionate mission-driven individual to have significant and national-scale impact on emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and families.<br />  <br />  <br /> <strong>Responsibilities</strong><br />  <br /> <em>The Associate Director will conduct two-three state business planning projects at a time, and support other ongoing department work, as needed.  The projects fall into the following categories: </em><br />  <br /> <strong>National and State Business Planning (80% of work) </strong><br /> <em>Lead state-level development and implementation of 3-year strategic business plans</em> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop comprehensive business plans for each Youth Villages state, including priorities, financial projections and milestones</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Conduct and manage market research to inform business plans, including customer interviews, data analysis and internal staff interviews</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Manage a broad range of stakeholders, including Youth Villages officers, state leaders and business development leads</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support the process to get the plan developed, including: <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Set timelines, deadlines and assign clear owners of business planning work</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Facilitate trainings / meetings with state leaders, officers and other stakeholders</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop strategic planning, implementation, and tracking tools</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Work with state leadership to develop clear implementation strategies (e.g., marketing/outreach focus, leadership council development, key relationship targets -- government and private, opportunities to diversify funding streams and achieve greatest ROI)</li> </ul> </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Engage a broad range of stakeholders, including YV officers, state leaders and functional leaders to make recommendations to the CEO and officer about the future direction of our states</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop and refine annual business planning process (e.g., how to engage and train state leaders to execute annual business plans, identify priorities, and track progress)</li> </ul>  <br /> <strong>Special projects (20% of work) </strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support organizational structure strategy</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support special projects as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support national business planning processes, as needed</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support the Strategic Growth Committee (as part of the national Youth Villages Board of Directors).</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Support other strategic plans as needed, including clinical (e.g. LGTBQ), operational (retention/recruiting) and others.</li> </ul>  <br /> <strong>Travel</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Up to 25% of job time requires domestic travel</li> </ul>  <br /> <strong>Qualifications</strong><br />  <br /> The successful candidate will have: <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Masters degree in public policy or business preferred</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">1-2 years experience at a consulting firm preferred, with a strong track record in all areas of strategy development, business analysis, problem solving and consensus building</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Project management experience, either through consulting or in some prior experience with and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Great strength at developing trusting relationships with a diverse range of people and leading through influence with humility and flexibility</li> <li style="padding: 0;
