Job Description: We are seeking dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians to become integral parts of our team at the Burrell Behavioral Health Center in Columbia, MO.

Our technicians participate in all aspects of client care, providing essential support and guidance to those in our programs. Enjoy the charm of the city's historic downtown, explore scenic trails and parks, and discover a thriving college town atmosphere Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Functions in accordance with Burrell Behavioral Health Operational Guidelines and within his/her professional code of ethics Is responsive to all Quality Assurance procedures of Burrell, and follows established procedures, rules and regulations Encourages individuals to develop positive relationships within the program, with both staff and other clients and provides general direction for all clients. Monitor client participation and progress in unit specific treatment services.

Implement guidelines, procedures and program rules accurately and consistently as well as participate u all team, program, and agency meetings. Participate in the ongoing development and revision of the individual treatment plan. Provides practical role modeling to meet the needs of the client and the goals of treatment.

Monitor and participate in unit cleanliness to assist in providing a safe and sanitary environment for clients. Ensure monitoring of vital signs, signs and symptoms of withdrawal, and possess knowledge to determine need for medical assistance for all BCC clients. Obtain specimens for urine drug screenings, prepare paperwork and document test findings.

Assist clients with daily living skills (i.e. personal hygiene, laundry, chores, etc…) within the program requirements. Dispense medications to clients (per physician order) as needed and training permits. Complete client belongings searches, inventorying and securing those items, per unit requirements.

Observes, records and communicates clients' behaviors, strengths, progress, areas of difficulty and needs in a timely manner, utilizing established mechanisms and program formats Completes program and unit specific documentation in an orderly and timely manner, for admissions, transfers and/or discharge. Monitors and/or facilitates unit specific individual/group activities and observe, evaluate, and document client behavior and progress. Regularly participates in evaluation of self according to Burrell Operational Guideline Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED (a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field is preferred) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, employees of the organization, family members and other contacts in the community Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables within standardized situations Shall successfully complete CPI, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration. Must complete 40 hours of related training annually.

Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone, e-mail and personal contacts Shall be able to follow direction and accept supervision Shall have the ability to work with a variety of human problems and the competence to handle crisis intervention Shall be able to enter clinical documentation into a computerized record system Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and sometimes sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to be able to walk and sometimes run up and down stairs and/ or hills.
