Maryhaven is a nonprofit, Long Island based agency committed to helping persons with special needs including intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and/or substance abuse/dependence issues to realize their full potential. The agency's purpose is to establish, maintain and operate progressive programs and services which are residential, educational, vocational, and rehabilitative in nature. Maryhaven's Day Habilitation takes care of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities will include:
High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years experience working with individuals diagnosed with ID/DD, varying diagnosis or physically challenged individuals required
OR Associates degree in Human Services and/or related field and one year experience working with individuals diagnosed with ID/DD, varying diagnosis or physically challenged individuals preferred.
Enrollment in a BA Health Science/Human Service level program preferred.
Maintain valid NYS driver's license within agency criteria.
Maintain SCIP-R certification.
AMAP within three months of employment and annually thereafter.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with staff, individuals supported and outside team members.
