Summary:For further information and how to apply, contact directly: Tonia Royal at: troyal@aihfs.org OR Richard Travino at: rtrevino@aihfs.org, Phone number: 313-846-3718, extension 1004 Seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Therapist (LLMSW, LMSW or LPC), under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, to develop therapeutic relationships with individuals, groups, and families to assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness and/or substance use disorders. We are offering a Sign On Bonus of $1,000 for a fully licensed, and $500 with a limited license therapist after successful completion of probation period (approx. 90 days)

Duties:The Behavioral Therapist's primary Areas of Responsibility is to work with children, youth, adults, elders, and their families to improve emotional and spiritual wellness: • Provide culturally appropriate psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities, in our agency clinic, the community, and/or client home-based settings. • Prove substance abuse counseling and leverage area rehabilitation and support services. • Maintain professional demeanor while conducting crisis intervention and crisis phone contacts. • Provide parenting education, coaching and training. • Advocate for the needs of clients, children and their families, and schedule psychiatric or related evaluations. • Provide clinical support, connect with, and develop collaborative relations with AIHFS programs and local community events and tribal organizations. • Help identify and eliminate barriers to services. • Connect and coordinate services for families with other AIHFS programming, programming staff, and/or other professionals involved with the family. • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations and trainings. • Develop, maintain, review and complete timely clinical documentation • Utilize Agency Electronic Health Records (EHR) platform and suicide reporting tools. • Maintain consistent work schedule, meet productivity goals, and prepare records and reports. • Abide by agency professional code of ethics all business-related matters. • Meet required agency annual trainings, as well as Continuing Education Units (CEU) , Children's Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (SATP). • Attend quality improvement meetings, serve as a member of committees, and support agency's mission to achieve strategic goals. • Participate in evaluation of peers and support staff.

Qualifications:Required Education and Qualifications: • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university. • Current state licensure as a Social Worker LMSW or LLMSW, or Counselor LPC • At least one (1) year of experience developing therapeutic relationships with individuals, groups, and families to assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness and/or substance use disorders. • Must have a development plan with or a valid certification from the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals. • Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems. • Adept to the wide range of behavior and psychosocial problems and their diagnosis and treatment using the DSM IV-TR and DSM V. • Self-directed, able to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision. • Demonstrate a positive work attitude and professional teamwork. • Maintain patient and agency confidentiality, handle crisis and tolerate stress professionally. • Abide by ethical guidelines in-line with National Association of Social Workers and agency malpractice policies • Valid unrestricted Michigan Driver's License, and able to get Chauffeur's license • Ability to promote an alcohol, tobacco and drug-free work environment • Use common-sense when following instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations • Think creatively and strategically about complex problems. • Demonstrate effective communication, writing, and presentation skills. • Demonstrate impeccable customer service with patients, visitors, and other employees; • Demonstrate respect for the capabilities, diversity of cultures and personalities. • Adjust plans/routines as required, and perform without projecting stress/frustration • Take initiative to proactively and independently assist others, resolve problems, collaborative with all levels of staff in a professional manner. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with and experience serving American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) children, youth, or adults exposed to sexual or physical abuse trauma. • Respect for and knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of a diverse Native American community, and the racially, culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
