Behavioral Health Therapist Iii-Days

Inova is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist 3 Full-time Day to join our new EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment Treatment and Healing) team. The therapist will provide essential clinical and case management support to our patients in a short stay psychiatric observation unit. This unique opportunity combines elements of direct patient care, providing individual crisis intervention therapy, group facilitation and case management to patients with behavioral health needs. The therapist will be instrumental in facilitating collaboration and communication among multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and techs as well as community referrals. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the holistic care of adolescent patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting while also providing valuable support to clinical and administrative operations.

This is a full-time Day shift onsite position. Every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assesses and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders through a

• bio/psycho/social department-specific evidenced based assessment identifying patient and family goals and needs. Integrates assessment using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age.

• Other factors into the plan of care and provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psychoeducational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.

Provides care management to ensure that the patient and family receive and are subsequently.

• Referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes. When indicated by role, participates in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis and chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach as needed.

• Provides documentation and performs administrative functions appropriate to the clinical role and/or department.

• Adheres to Inova Health System's Culture of Safety and participates in maintaining a professional culture throughout the organization.

• Strives to increase professional knowledge, develop expertise and works toward licensure and certifications. Practices within the Code of Ethics. Participates in staff meetings and professional committees as assigned.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Provides care coordination to assure that the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes.

• Strives to increase professional knowledge, develop expertise. Practices within the Code of Ethics.

• Serves as a clinical leader by providing clinical supervision to team members seeking licensure as well as supervision/mentoring of graduate students during clinical internships. Works collaboratively with faculty liaison and/or clinical supervisor as appropriate.

• Serves as mentor to new staff.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Three (3) years' experience in Behavioral Health.

• Experience in brief, targeted, evidence-based interventions (Crisis intervention, trauma, integrative therapies) mental health/substance use disorders, and psychoeducational programming.

• Demonstrated success as a clinical supervisor.

Education:

• Master's Degree - Social Work or

• Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or behavioral health-related field.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.

• Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire.

Licensure:

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSAP).
