Behavioral Health Techs provides client supervision and conduct activities in accordance with professional staff direction and unit procedures; assist clients in activities of daily living, encourage client participation in daily scheduled activities, maintain safe and clean environment, document service activities in accordance with unit procedures; assist with development and implementation of program schedule of activities.

Participates in or assists with development and update of rehab services component of client service plan (CSP).

Coordinates and conducts psychosocial rehabilitation services activity groups using Agency approved modules.

Plans daily/weekly activities schedules in accordance with overall approved plan for activities services.

Completes documentation of all clinical services activities in accordance with the Client Record Handbook.

Documents staff activities in accordance with Agency procedures. Maintains program documentation, inventories of equipment and supplies, and other logs/records in accordance with program procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, or other related human services field.

  • Experience working with mentally ill adults preferred.

Shift: Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm

Rate of Pay: $12.50/hr

To be considered for employment, you will be required to undergo a criminal background check, employment references check, and drug screening. In addition you must have a current and valid driver's license with no more than 6 points. A 3 year driving record will also be required upon hire.

In addition, MHA's assists patients in activities of daily living, assists in implementingtreatment plans and provides supportive contact with patients. Supervises patients during program activities, meals, courtyard breaks and all unscheduled times or as directed by supervisor. Assists patients with activities of daily living as necessary (eating, laundry, personal hygiene, etc.) Ensures laundry is tracked accurately and returned to client. Assists patients in ambulating as needed. Assists in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up in conjunction with dietary staff. Supervises and documents meal intake as directed by nursing or supervisory staff. Supervises patients on special observation/precautionary status levels as assigned by supervisor. Monitors other patients in accordance with program procedures or as assigned by supervisory staff. Orients patients to unit/facility, rules and responsibilities, schedules and activities, etc. at time of admission in accordance with unit procedure. Documents orientation activities in accordance with program specifications. Performs accurate inventory and documents correctly upon admission of a client. Completes inventory of patient belongings and monitors patient compliance with contraband prohibition in accordance with unit procedures to ensure the safety and security of patients and staff. Notifies nurse of any suspected possession of contraband or potentially dangerous object on unit. Communicates immediately to nursing staff important information regarding client's concerns or complaints regarding physical and emotional needs, changes in patient functioning or status, any symptoms of possible medical or psychiatric emergencies, or possible missing persons or elopements. Education and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Psychiatric experience or CNA certification preferred. Shift: 7:30pm - 8:00am (rotating shifts, with every other weekend off) Rate of Pay: $10.00hr plus shift differential To be considered for employment, you will be required to undergo a criminal background check, employment references check, and drug screening.
