The Behavioral Health Team Lead will be responsible for assisting the Targeted Case Management Supervisor in supporting the Targeted Case Management (TCM) Programs at the El Paso Child Guidance Center. The Lead will assist the TCM Supervisor in overseeing an assigned team of care coordinators and provide targeted case management (TCM) services to youth in care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Targeted Case Management Program to include supervision to team of TCM Care Coordinators.

  • The lead will be responsible for reviewing and approving documentation, assuring ongoing fidelity of service implementation and staff development, and ensuring services are delivered within compliance with all regulatory guidelines.

  • Complete necessary training and certification in evidence-based practices, inclusive of the CANS/A, necessary to support and supervise Care Coordinators and to be credentialed with agency as a QMHP-CS

  • Provide professional growth and development to Care Coordinators to enhance skills in serving the child and family. This includes professional workshops, shadowing opportunities, and one-on-one teaching

  • Cover for Care Coordinator caseloads during PTO and/or during period of staff transition.

  • Monitor escalating situations with direct care team members and provide support when needed as it relates to client concerns and/or concerns with team members.

  • Run reports and identify trends for services in the Behavioral Health Programs to improve service delivery and outcomes.

  • Conduct chart audits and satisfaction calls with clients enrolled in TCM program monthly.

  • Complete onboarding processing, including training and certification in all evidence-based methodologies.

  • Maintain annual certification in Texas CANS 3-5, Texas CANS 6-17 and ANSA.

  • Ensure all daily documentation is completed and entered into all required databases in a timely and efficient manner. Review assigned Care Coordinator documentation same day to ensure timely filing.

  • Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures of the EPCGC, including compliance with COA standards and all other regulatory requirements by all supervised staff.

  • Exhibit sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences in the service population using Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles and practices.

  • As needed, provide direct services and/or providing needed clinical services (i.e., IPE, CANS/A Assessment, Treatment Plan Session, Skills Training, Medication Training and Support).

  • Ensure employee timesheets are accurate and ready for approval, to include any bonus forms submitted.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Review timecards of Care Coordinators each pay period to ensure accuracy.

  • Review bonus forms of Care Coordinators each pay period to ensure accuracy.

  • Conduct one to one supervision with Care Coordinators and consult with supervisor when needed.

  • Monitor and assist with supervisor with employee performance.

  • Ensures team meets productivity targets and quality documentation.

  • Assign work to team members and follow up to ensure accountability.

  • Intervene when a Care Coordinator is not successful in their role or needs supervisor assistance.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and using standard office equipment. This position requires the ability to move throughout the community and occasionally must be able to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds at times.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is determined based off the needs of the assigned caseload, outreach events and other duties.

Travel

50% travel is expected for this position.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a social service related field

  • Bilingual English and Spanish

  • 1 year experience working as a care coordinator
